The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Jersey City on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
The 22-year-old female victim reported that in the morning hours, she was approached by an unknown male in a Journal Square neighborhood, and she entered the white vehicle he was operating. The male drove the victim a short distance to the area of Division Street and Eighth Street at approximately 7 a.m., where she reported being sexually assaulted in the vehicle. During the early stages of the preliminary investigation, a person of interest was identified.
The matter remains under investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
