Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

The Tenakill Swim Club, located on Grove Street, will be holding their annual open house this weekend. Go and check it out, spend a day for free, and see what a wonderful summer you and your family can enjoy at the Swim Club.

Families are welcome to join educators from the Nature Center this Saturday June 15 for Nature Story Time, and Sunday June 16 for a guided Summer Family Hike. Enjoy the beautiful weather and get ready for the start of summer.

This evening, Friday, June 14 from 7 pm to 11 pm, visit the St. Thomas Armenian Church Spring Evening Market. Enjoy shopping, great food, socialize and entertainment. Artisans, small businesses, delicious food, and desserts. Ballroom dancing demonstrations, mocktail mobile bar, backgammon and chess tournaments, painting and more.

Congratulations to Tenafly resident and Academy of the Holy Angels student Mikhayla Herrera for being awarded the Sister Catherine Green Kindness Award for her ability to demonstrate and inspire compassion and care in others. Wonderful work Mikhayla continuing the legacy of Sister Green.

Visit the Library this Saturday, June 15, for the annual Community Picnic. Bring your lunch, sign up for the summer reading program, and have some fun! Enjoy the petting zoo, games and ice cream from The Ice Cream Lady food truck. The picnic will be held in the green space behind the Library from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. See you there!

Tomorrow, on Saturday, from Noon to 4 pm, the Church of the Atonement is hosting its first Antiques Appraisal Event. Professional appraiser Jon Felz of RZM Fine Arts & Antiques will offer informal oral appraisals "road show style" of up to three treasures you bring to the event at 97 Highwood Avenue. Appraisal of the first item costs $10, second costs $20, and third costs $25. Or, just go and enjoy the scene for $5. Contact the Church office for details at (201) 568-1763.

This coming Tuesday, June 18 in Huyler Park we are celebrating the annual Juneteenth Flag raising ceremony and proclamation. The event begins at 6 pm.

The Tenafly Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting is next Wednesday, June 19, beginning at 7 pm. The meeting is being hosted at 91 West Clinton Avenue and is open to all members and prospective members. Please RSVP at: https://www.tenaflychamber.org/annual-meetin

Save the date for Saturday, June 29 from 10am to 2:30pm at the Roosevelt Common for the Annual 4th of July Celebration hosted by Tenafly Recreation. Come and join us for rides, games, giveaways, food, contests, DJ and more!

The Tenafly students Interact Club is creating a video for Grandparents Day, September 8. The purpose of the video is to encourage people to spend time with Grandparents and Senior family members while engaged in, and recording short conversations or activities. Your video, or audio clip with a photo, should be limited to 30-45 second clips. Everyone is welcome to make a submission. All the completed videos and audio clips will be posted on the Interact Club YouTube Channel. Clips can be submitted to Winsten Lamb at email: 25wlam@tenafly.k12.nj.us The video will premiere on September 9.
