1. On July 13th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
arrested 27-year-old Yery S. Ortez-Canales of Jersey City, NJ, and 31-year-old Inshallah S. Phillips of Newark, NJ, for
active warrants. Both individuals were then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for their arrest
processing. Upon the completion of their arrest processing, Mr. Ortez-Canales and Mr. Phillips were both released on
their own recognizance, pending their next court appearances.
2. On July 14th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 68th
Street and Madison Street on a report of an unwanted party in a residence. During their on-scene investigation, officers
arrested 33-year-old Andrea G. Guzman of Elizabeth, NJ, for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:12-
1(5)(A)], after she kicked one of the responding officers prior to being escorted out of the home. Ms. Guzman was then
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest
processing, Ms. Guzman was issued her complaint summons and then released from police custody.
3. On July 14th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
arrested 49-year-old Hajun Kim of Palisades Park, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Kim was then
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Kim was issued summonses for traffic violations and then released into the custody of a responsible
adult.
4. On July 14th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
arrested 28-year-old Emner A. Curiales-Manuel of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr.
Curiales-Manuel was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the
completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Curiales-Manuel was issued various summonses for traffic violations and then
released into the custody of a responsible adult.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven
guilty in a court of law.
