On July 2, 2024, Millburn Police responded to a Canoe Brook Road residence on a report of a burglary that occurred over the past couple of days. The investigation revealed that someone forced entry into the residence through a sliding glass door. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 2, 2024, Millburn Police responded to CVS in Millburn on a report of a theft that just occurred. CVS associate reported that Ronald Schmidbauer, age 53, of Paterson, concealed $271.00 and left the store without paying. Schmidbauer was located by Millburn Police Officers, placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On July 4, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Edgewood Ter on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that 2 unknown actors entered his unlocked Genesis GV60, and attempted to start the vehicle. An item was stolen from inside of the vehicle and the actors fled the area in a stolen vehicle out of Newark. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 4, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Rosedale Ave on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that 2 unknown actors entered her unlocked Hyundai Palisade. Nothing was taken. The actors then fled the area. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 7, 2024, Jeremy Weinberg, a resident of Short Hills was at the Millburn Police Department to report what he described as suspicious behavior. He appeared to be under the influence. The investigation revealed that he was in possession of a small plastic bag with white powder residue. A subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered additional CDS and a crack pipe. Jeremy Weinberg was placed under arrest and charged with possession of controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On July 8, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Sephora in the Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Sephora associates reported that Precious Quartey, age 18, of Newark, and a juvenile female concealed $301 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying. Quartey was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. The Juvenile was taken into custody and released to a family member.

On July 9, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Recinos responded to a report of a vehicle that had eluded the Springfield Police Department and was traveling westbound on Route 24. Officer Recinos located the vehicle, a 2018 red Toyota Corolla, and attempted to stop it. However, the vehicle fled, prompting Officer Recinos to pursue. Due to safety concerns, Officer Recinos terminated the pursuit shortly thereafter. Subsequent investigation led to the identification of the driver involved in the eluding incident. The driver Alaric Chuy, age 49, of Edison, was charged with eluding law enforcement and multiple motor vehicle violations.

On July 9, 2024, Millburn Police responded to Verizon at the Short Hills Mall on a report on a report of a fraudulent transaction. Verizon associate reported that there was a male in the store attempting to complete an in-store pick-up for two Apple iPhones, that were purchased online (total value $2,399.98). The male suspect Fausto Cobo, age 19 of NY, NY was located and detained. Further investigation revealed the Verizon account in question was hacked and that he was not an authorized user on the account. He was placed under arrest and charged with an attempt to commit theft by deception.

On July 12, 2024, During the overnight hours, Millburn Township experienced a residential burglary to an unoccupied residence on Stony Lane. The suspect(s) entered through an unsecured window and subsequently stole a vehicle in the driveway. This Incident is being investigated by The Millburn Detective Bureau.

On July 12, 2024, Millburn Police responded to CVS in Millburn on a report of theft that just occurred. CVS associates reported that Darnell England, age 49, of Newark, concealed $280.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and searched which yielded a stolen credit card. He was charged with shoplifting and credit card theft.

On July 13, 2024, during evening hours, Millburn Police responded to an Oxford Way residence on an activated burglary alarm. The investigation revealed that someone attempted to force entry into the residence through a window. The suspects never gained entry to the residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 14, 2024, Millburn police responded to a burglary of a residence on Westview Rd. The investigation revealed that someone had entered the residence through an unlocked sliding glass door. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
