Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
Spend time at the Nature Center's Butterfly House this Saturday and Sunday and enjoy visiting and feeding butterflies. On Sunday, discover amazing birds of prey. Sign up for Remarkable Raptors and spend quality time with a live hawk and owl. Seniors and adults, enjoy time on Wednesday morning socializing and watching birds at the bird feeders. Tenafly Public School Referendum - Voting by mail for September 17: Tenafly residents (including college-bound students) can apply to vote by mail in the September 17 school referendum. People who have voted this way in the past may receive ballots in August. To take advantage of this convenient option, submit your paper application to the county by September 10 by mail or by 3 pm September 16 in person. Applications are available at www.tenaflyschools.org/vote.
This weekend July 20 and 21, experience the fascinating world of aerodynamics and propulsion with the Tenafly Rocket Pioneers. For those ages 7 to 13, you can take part in this free, hands on bottle rocket experience hosted by local High School students. To learn more and sign up, email Ben at: bedreyer2006@gmail.com
This coming Tuesday, July 23, the Summer Concert Series at Huyler Park continues at 7:00 PM with the blues guitar and twist of soul of Saron Crenshaw. And on Thursday, July 25 experience the hard driving punk power pop of Kanak. In case of rain the concerts will be relocated to the High School auditorium.
Maker's Night, enjoy arts and crafts hands on fun! Wednesday, July 24, 6 to 8 pm, ages 4 years to 6th grade, must be accompanied by an adult. A wonderful social event with dinner included. Free of charge, donations welcome. At the Presbyterian Church. Register by July 21 to 201-567-0111.

Monday, August 5, at Montammy Golf Club is Play Fore!, the Kids Golf and Tennis Classic. This important fundraiser includes a fun day of Men’s and Women’s Golf, Tennis, Pickleball, and Mahjong or Canasta and helps support programming and services for children at the JCC. The Tenafly students Interact Club is creating a video for Grandparents Day, September 8. The purpose of the video is to encourage people to spend time with Grandparents and Senior family members while engaged in and recording short conversations or activities. Your video, or audio clip with a photo, should be limited to 30-45 second clips. Everyone is welcome to make a submission. All the completed videos and audio clips will be posted on the Interact Club YouTube Channel. Clips can be submitted to Winsten Lamb at email: 25wlam@tenafly.k12.nj.us The video will premiere on September 9.
