Ytalo Savinovich
On July 23rd, 2024, a female walked into the Guttenberg Police Department, reporting that she was the victim of
a criminal sexual contact while working inside of a flower shop on Park Avenue. During the commission of the crime, the
suspect was said to have brandished a badge, indicating that he was a former Police Officer with the Union City Police
Department. Members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division forwarded this information to our Criminal
Investigations Bureau, at which time Detectives immediately launched a criminal investigation. Over the course of a few
days, Detectives recovered relevant video surveillance footage and successfully identified the suspect as 52-year-old
Ytalo Savinovich of Cliffside Park, NJ. As the result of their criminal investigation, Mr. Savinovich was charged with
criminal sexual contact [2C:14-3B] and harassment [2C:33-4C]. Both charges were issued on a complaint warrant and the
defendant remained unapprehend.
On July 26th, 2024, the Cliffside Park Police Department notified our agency that they had located and
apprehended Mr. Savinovich, who was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing.
Following his arrest processing, Mr. Savinovich was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation to be cleared
for incarceration. Once medically cleared, Mr. Savinovich will be transported and lodged in the Hudson County
Correctional Center.
