1. On July 18, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Police Officers Anthony Olivera and Michael Aviles responded to the Ninth Street Light Rail Station on reports that a man, identified as 57- year-old Angelo Gomez of Jersey City, was on the platform. Gomez was wanted on an open warrant by the Hudson County Sheriff's Office for theft. He was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was also wanted out of Hoboken for theft. Gomez was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
2. On July 18, 2024, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Police Officers Christopher Barral and Remy Garcia-Marte were on a detail check at Church Square Park, when they saw a woman, they knew was 26-year-old Kayla Moreno of Hoboken lighting what appeared to be a cigarette in the park. They told her she couldn’t smoke in the park, and that if she continued to do so, she would receive a summons. She continued to smoke and received a summons. It was discovered that Moreno had a warrant for her arrest out of Hoboken, and she was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she was charged with bail jumping. She was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On July 19, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Sgt. Michael Straten and Police Officer Brandon Fitzgibbons responded to CVS, 59 Washington St., on reports of a disorderly man refusing to leave the store. When they arrived, they saw the man, later identified as 61-year-old Anthony Rhodes of Hoboken, arguing with employees just outside the store. They separated Rhodes from the employees, and he became irate. He paced back and forth while yelling at employees to come fight him. He was asked multiple times to stop shouting and calm down, but he continued to scream and threaten to physically harm store staff members. Rhodes walked across the street to Basile’s Pizza, 89 Washington St., and when he was told he couldn’t sit on their seats he became irate toward employees there, cursing at them and threatening violence. When officers advised him that he would be arrested if he didn’t stop threatening people, he lowered his voice and walked away. However, soon after, Rhodes tried to go back to the CVS and told officers he would fight the employees. He was arrested for disorderly conduct. An on- scene investigation revealed Rhodes had walked into the store and made his way to the shaving section, where he was seen trying to grab several razor cartridges but couldn’t get past the security measures. The store manager observed Rhodes holding shelves and fixtures to stay upright. A cup of soda he was holding began to pour on the floor and he was asked to leave. That is when he began yelling and threatening staff, and police were called. A search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical tube with burnt ends, steel wool, a wooden stick, and ink tube from a pen; all items consistent with smoking CDS crack cocaine. He was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, and making terroristic threats. During transport to Hoboken Police Headquarters, he became difficult and refused to walk on his own. During processing, he refused to be fingerprinted or photographed and he was further charged with refusing to be fingerprinted. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
4. On July 19, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., Police Officers Enrico Gnassi and Frank Lombardo responded to the area of Jackson and Third Streets, on reports that a man wanted on warrants from Hoboken and Springfield was observed there. Officers observed that man, later identified as 26-year-old Kawane Hinton of Newark, entering a vehicle on the 300 block of Jackson Street. They approached Hinton, who was operating an unregistered vehicle with no license, and placed him under arrest. He was issued summonses for operating an unregistered vehicle and driving without a license. Hinton was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. He received a new court date from the Springfield Police Department and was released on bail for the Hoboken warrant.
5. On July 20, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Police Officers Joseph DiMartino and Brandon Fitzgibbons responded to the 1200 block of Washington Street on reports of a woman refusing to leave an apartment. The rightful resident told officers she became fearful of the woman, identified as 23-year-old Ailly Uukule of Washington D.C., because she had become unstable. Sgt. Michael Straten arrived on the scene to assist. Uukule was told by the officers' multiple times that she had to leave, but she refused. She was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. She was charged with criminal trespassing and processed. She was released with a summons.
6. On July 20, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Police Officers Harold Milne and Enrico Gnassi responded to the 300 block of Marshall Drive on reports of a man sleeping in the stairwell inside a residential building. Officers found the man and recognized him as 42-year-old Phillip Steed of Hoboken, who did not live in the building. Steed was placed under arrest for trespassing. Police Officer Frank Lombardo arrived on the scene to assist. A search of Steed located $116 in cash in numerous denominations, mostly smaller bills, 128 clear cellophane bags containing white crystalized rock suspected to be CDS crack cocaine, two clear glass vials with black caps containing a brown odorous liquid suspected to be CDS phencyclidine (PCP), and 102 white wax folds containing a powdery substance suspected to CDS heroin. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute CDS PCP, possession with intent to distribute CDS PCP within 500 feet of public housing, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with intent to distribute CDS crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute CDS crack cocaine within 500 feet of public housing, possession with intent to distribute CDS crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with intent to distribute CDS heroin, possession with intent to distribute CDS heroin within 500 feet of public housing, possession with intent to distribute CDS heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and defiant trespassing. Steed was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
7. On July 20, 2024, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Police Officers Anthony Olivera and Harry Montalvo responded to the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St., on reports of a disorderly individual who was refusing to leave. Upon arrival the officers were told the woman, identified as 43-year-old Ebony King of Brooklyn, had become irate toward shelter staff and made threats against them, including saying several times, that she would murder one of them. King was arrested for making terroristic threats. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and released with a summons.
8. On July 20, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., Sgt. Frances McCourt and Police Officers Harry Montalvo, Nicholas Protopapadakis, and Christopher Soto responded to Pier 13, 1301 Sinatra Dr. North on reports of a man trying to force a woman into a car. They found both parties, and determined there was no domestic dispute, but rather a verbal argument during which the man had driven away and then drove back. The driver of the car, identified as 35-year-old Pierre Villacis of the Bronx, was given a field sobriety test, after which he was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he received additional summonses for reckless driving and endangering the welfare of a child, as there was a child in the vehicle. As per John’s Law, he was released into the custody of a responsible party.
9. On July 21, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Shawn Sodora responded to CVS, 59 Newark St., on reports of a man fighting with store security. When they arrived, they saw the actor, later identified as 24-year-old Jeremiah Harmon who has no known address, fleeing from the store. The officers followed him until he fell to the ground on the 100 block of Hudson Street. Police Officer Christopher Soto arrived on the scene and arrested Harmon. He was walked into Hoboken Police Headquarters and treated by the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps for cuts from the fall. Police Officers Nicholas Losurdo and David Chicara conducted an on-scene investigation at the CVS and discovered Harmon tried to steal three items by hiding them in his jacket but was stopped by store security. Harmon threw his jacket over the employee's head and hit him about five times. The security officer was taken to the hospital for treatment. Harmon was charged with aggravated assault with significant bodily injury, obstruction of the administration of law, and robbery. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
10. On July 22, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m., Detectives John Quinones and Samuel Flores were on the 300 block of Jackson Street when they saw 24-year-old Raffaelle Spadavecchia of Hoboken and knew he was wanted for a robbery on July 9, 2024. Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Mark Mooreman responded to that call at 7-Eleven, 422 Washington St., where an employee told them a man had come into the store and left without paying for multiple items that added up to approximately $31.07. When the employee tried to stop him, he hit him in the back before running out of the store. A follow-up investigation by Detective Fabian Quinones identified Spadavecchia as the actor and he was charged with robbery on a complaint. On July 22, Detectives J. Quinones and Flores approached Spadavecchia and ordered him to stop. A search incident to arrest located six white rocks individually wrapped suspected to be CDS crack cocaine and seven wax folds tied off in a singular rubber band, containing suspected CDS heroin. Spadavecchia was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed on the robbery charge and additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute CDS heroin, possession with intent to distribute CDS crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of public housing, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Spadavecchia was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
11. On July 22, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Police Officer Arturo Gonzalez observed a car parked in the middle of the street on the 300 block of Harrison Street. When he approached the vehicle and asked the driver to pull over, so he wouldn’t be blocking traffic, the driver began to yell at the officer and refused to move the vehicle. The driver refused to hand over his identification. Police Officers Enrico Gnassi and Jonathan Figueroa arrived to assist. The driver was told multiple times that if he didn’t provide his license or other identification, he would be arrested for obstructing the administration of the law. He refused to get out of the car when asked multiple times and then resisted arrest. He was eventually arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was identified as 38-year-old Terique Miller of Burlington. He was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. He received summonses for failure to exhibit a driver's license, obstructing the passage of other vehicles, failure to exhibit a registration, and failure to exhibit proof of insurance. He was released with a summons and a court date.
12. On July 22, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Police Officers Harold Milne, Ramon Estrella, Christopher Barral, and Joseph Spano responded to the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St. on reports of a man threatening shelter clients. The man had left by the time officers arrived. Witnesses gave them a description and told them the actor had a radio and a knife. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Brandon Matthews of Jersey City, was located in front of McDonalds, 234 Washington St. When they approached him, he dropped a metal object, described as a corkscrew/bottle opener, on the ground. It was discovered Matthews had a warrant out of Weehawken. He was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and later brought to the Weehawken Police Department for processing.
13. On July 23, 2024, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Police Officers Jonathan Figueroa and Frank Francolino responded to Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington St., on reports that a man inside the courtroom had a warrant out for his arrest from Hudson County. When the man, identified as 47- year-old Marco Prieto of Hoboken, exited the courtroom where he was on another matter, he was placed under arrest. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and later taken into custody by Hudson County Sherriff’s Officers.
14. On July 24, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Police Officers Frank Losurdo and Nasir Wiley conducted a sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 600 block of Sixth Street, due to complaints of non-residents sleeping in the stairwells and using illegal narcotics in the overnight hours. Officers located a man they knew was 29-year-old Edgar Najera of Jersey City, sleeping in front of the roof access door. He was woken up and placed under arrest for defiant trespassing. A search incident to arrest found Najera in possession of a small glass cylindrical tube with burnt ends, commonly used to ingest CDS crack cocaine. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and found to have an outstanding warrant out of Hoboken for shoplifting. He was processed on charges of trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
15. On July 24, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Police Officers Jessica Arebalo and Michael Avilez responded to Central Judicial Processing in Jersey City to pick-up and transport 42-yearold Christina Corson of Jersey City to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing on warrants for burglary, criminal mischief, and criminal trespassing. The warrants stem from two separate incidents in January of 2023, during which Corson trespassed on private property on the 300 block of Monroe Street, broke into the residential building, and damaged property inside. On July 24, Corson was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
16. On July 24, 2024, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Police Officer Arturo Gonzalez processed the arrest of 35-year-old Raymond Henry of Hoboken for theft of movable property in connection to the theft of a solar animal repellent device on the 800 block of Bloomfield Street reported on April 19. A follow up investigation by Police Officer Daniel Grossi determined Henry removed the device from the steps of a private residence. On July 24, Henry was fingerprinted, photographed, and released.
17. On July 24, 2024, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Police Officers Ramon Estrella and Jennifer Lee responded to the 50 block of Newark Street on reports of an emotionally disturbed person. Upon arrival they observed a man, later identified as 33-year-old Angel Sierra-Lopez of Hoboken, who fit the description of the suspect. As officers approached, they saw two objects fall to the ground and immediately identified them as a glass cylinder shaped object with a burnt end and a wax fold. Lopez was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
18. On July 24, 2024, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Sgt. William Collins and Police Officers Zackary Guido, Valentino Salgado, Carmen Benitez, and Ronald Kibitlewski were conducting a sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 600 block of Sixth Street when they observed a man who did not live in the building. When asked, he gave the officers a fake name. He was arrested for defiant trespassing and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, where he was identified as 31-year-old Alexander Peguero of Bayonne. It was discovered he had multiple warrants including one out of Elmwood Park, two out of Jersey City, and one from Pennsylvania. He was charged with defiant trespassing and hindering apprehension and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
