TITLE: SENIOR REGISTERED ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
PUBLIC HEALTH
JOB STATUS: Full Time – 40 hours/week
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Department of Health and Human Services
Division of Health
STARTING SALARY: $62,011 (CWA15, 10-31)
CLOSING DATE: Until Filled
START DATE: To be determined

JOB DUTIES:
Under direction, takes the lead over Registered Environmental Health Specialists and Registered Environmental Health Specialist trainees; performs sanitary inspection work involving the enforcement of relevant sanitary, environmental, and public health laws and rules within the concerned jurisdiction; conducts inspections, investigations, and educational outreach activities; performs other related duties as required and/or necessary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in performing the duties incumbent upon a Registered Environmental Health Specialist in the enforcement of relevant sanitary, environmental, and public health laws and rules.
  • LICENSE: Possession of an active Registered Environmental Health Specialist License issued by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services.

    Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
