Pedestrian Struck and Killed By a Motor Vehicle on NJ Route 23

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Department Chief James DeVore announce that on September 10, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the West Milford Police Department responded to the area of NJ Route 23 South on a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross the highway. The pedestrian, Mod A. Khader, a 73-year-old male from Lincoln Park, NJ, was subsequently transported to Chilton Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away at approximately 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck the decedent remained at the scene.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
