Over 900 Grams of Cocaine Seized from Jersey City Raid

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force has arrested three individuals following the investigation of a narcotics distribution operation in Jersey City. As part of the investigation, over 900 grams of cocaine, four pounds of marijuana, various narcotics, and two handguns were recovered.

Jamaal George, 47, of Newark, is charged with:
• Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10b; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine) within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin) within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; two counts of Possession (methamphetamine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin) in violation 2C:35-5b; Possession of a Weapon While Committing a CDS Offense in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1a; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1); Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b(1); Possession (cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(3); and Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a.

Katrina Bullock, 41, of Jersey City is charged with:
• Possession (cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1); Possession (marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(3)b; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b; Possession (psilocybin) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b; Possession (methamphetamine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b; and Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Gangs Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant at King George Clothing and Accessory Store located at 426 Ocean Avenue in Jersey City after receiving information that narcotics were allegedly being sold within the business. Various suspected narcotics and a firearm were found within the storefront. A third individual, a 35-year-old Jersey City woman, who was inside the store at the time of the search was charged with Possession (marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(3) and released on a summons.

Additional charges have been filed against Jamaal George in Essex County after a second handgun and narcotics were recovered during court-authorized searches in Newark.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Gang Task Force with the investigations and arrests, with assistance by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark Police Department, and Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit. The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
