Guttenberg Police Blotter - September 2nd, 2024 to September 8th, 2024

1. On September 2nd, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 30-year-old Darwin E. Roca-Estrada of Union City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. RocaEstrada was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Roca-Estrada was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released to a responsible adult.

2. On September 2nd, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded near the intersection of 70th Street and Hudson Avenue for a report of a possible theft. During their investigation, Officers located the suspect, who admitted to taking the victim’s wallet, currency, and then discarding the wallet afterward. At that time, Officers arrested 30-year-old Marcos R. Funes-Herrera of Guttenberg, NJ, for theft [2C:20-3]. Mr. Funes-Herrera was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Funes-Herrera was issued his complaint summons and then released from police custody.

3. On September 4th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 70th Street and Broadway after receiving a report of a male who fell off of his motorcycle. During their on-scene investigation, Officers arrested 53-year-old Richard J. Frato of the Township of Washington, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Officers also discovered that Mr. Frato was in possession of a small pink baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine and a small black straw with white powdery residue. Mr. Frato was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department, where he was also charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance [2C:35-10A(1)] and possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Frato was issued his complaint summons, various summonses for traffic violations, and then released into the custody of a responsible adult.

4. On September 5th, 2024, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and informed that they had a male in their custody, who had an active warrant issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Detectives of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, where they arrested 28-year-old Kaven Henriquez of Fairview, NJ, for the active warrant. Mr. Henriquez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Henriquez was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.

5. On September 6th, 2024, members of the New Jersey State Police transported 27-year-old Kevin A. Yepez-Ordonez of East Brunswick, NJ, to our police headquarters, where he was arrested for two active warrants, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Yepez-Ordonez was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.

6. On September 6th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 70th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard for a reported motor vehicle accident. During their on-scene investigation, Officers arrested 31-year-old Youngsoo Kim of Guttenberg, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. During their investigation, Officers also discovered that she had an active warrant, issued by the Deal Municipal Court. Ms. Kim was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Kim was issued various summonses for traffic violations and then released on her own recognizance, into the custody of a responsible adult.
