The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit has charged a 52-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Harrison on May 17, 2024.

Robert Marmora, of Kearny, is charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C: 12-1.1 and Endangering an Injured Victim in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1.2a. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, and released pending his first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for October 17, 2024.

Just after 2 a.m. on May 17, 2024, the Harrison Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area Harrison Avenue and South 5th Street. Responding officers located an injured female victim, later identified as a 66-year-old Harrison woman. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. She was transported to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries to her lower and mid-body. During the course of the investigation, police identified Marmora’s Ford EcoSport as the vehicle involved in the collision.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Harrison Police Department with the investigation and arrest. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
