1. On September 19, 2024, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Alexander Miller, were conducting roving patrol on the 100 block of River Street when they saw a man sleeping in the vestibule of a bank. They woke up the man, later identified as 23-year-old Joseph Benton of New York, and informed him he was trespassing. He was issued a summons for defiant trespassing, made aware he is not permitted to sleep in vestibules or corridors, and was released from the scene.
2. On September 20, 2024, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Alexander Miller were on roving patrol on the 600 block of Sixth Street when they saw three individuals walking on Hoboken Housing Authority Property. Two of them, later identified as 23-year-old Rodolfo Gutierrez of Hoboken and 37-year-old Juan Carlos Ruiz of West New York, were not HHA residents. Guiterrez and Ruiz were both issued a summons for trespassing and released from the scene.
3. On September 21, 2024, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Police Officers Andrias Bonilla and Anthony Ingraffia responded to Madd Hatter Bar & Restaurant, 221 Washington St., on reports of a large fight. An on-scene investigation revealed that an individual, later identified as 23-yearold Isaac Reyes of Union City, tried to go into the bar after 2 a.m., which is not permitted, to find his keys. When Reyes was told he couldn’t go inside, he became agitated and tried to force his way past the security guards. He became hostile, tried to engage the security guards in a fight, and at one point reached into his pocket to pull out a knife. Security was able to take the knife away from him, but during the struggle, Reyes bit one of them causing minor injuries. When Police Officers arrived, Reyes was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, and certain persons not to have weapons. He was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
4. On September 21, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., Sgt. Roary Miller and Police Officers Anthony Hochstadter and Nicklas Valerius responded to Ainsworth Hoboken, 310 Sinatra Dr., on reports of two people being followed by an individual trying to fight them and threatening them. An on-scene investigation found that the individual, later identified as 30-year-old David Damore of Hoboken, chased the victims for two blocks, and at one point grabbed one of their arms when they tried to call the police. Damore was located at Blue Eyes, 525 Sinatra Dr., and was arrested for making terroristic threats. He was released from police custody on the scene with a summons.
5. On September 22, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Police Officers Anthony Rutkowski, Ricky Truppner, Jennifer Lee, and Remy Garcia-Marte, responded to The Shannon, 160 First St., on reports of someone being disorderly outside the bar. Upon arrival, officers learned the bar was refusing the individual entry because he was visibly intoxicated. The individual became angry and attempted to push his way past the security guards. When officers questioned the individual, he refused to give them his name and became belligerent, yelling at them. The Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene to check on the man, later identified as 22- year-old Donavan Sanchez of Union City, due to concerns for his own health and safety. Sanchez refused to answer questions, rambled loudly, and pointed his finger in the faces of EMTs. It was determined he needed to go to the hospital because it was not believed he could care for himself. While being handcuffed, Sanchez resisted. He was eventually handcuffed and charged with hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and then released on a summons.
6. On September 23, 2024, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Police Officer Anthony Hochstadter and Kyle Seper, responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting, where the actor was in custody of store security officers. An on-scene investigation revealed that 43-year-old Ervin Zamora of Bayonne was seen entering the store twice that afternoon. The first time, he was seen putting a pair of sunglasses in his pocket and then walked out. When he came back, he was observed taking three packages of meat, valued at approximately $55.92, and placing them into a bag of other items that he paid for. When he tried to leave without paying for the meat, he was detained by store security. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was charged with shoplifting, processed, and released with a summons.
7. On September 24, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Police Officers Carmen Benitez and Aidan Gonzalez responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifter who was in custody of store security officers. When they arrived, they were told the actor, later identified as 26-year-old Arturo Gonzalez of Hoboken, was seen placing a bottle of tequila, valued at $54.00, into his backpack. He was charged with shoplifting. Gonzalez was ultimately transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed and released with a summons and court date.
8. On September 24, 2024, Police Officer Harold Milne and Ramon Estrella, transported 46- year-old Corey Cooke of Jersey City, from the Hudson County Correctional Facility to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Cooke had been arrested in Hoboken on September 16, 2024, and was originally taken to the hospital for treatment of a pre-existing condition. When he was released and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, it was discovered Cooke had a warrant out of Hoboken and he was further charged with absconding from parole, resisting by flight, resisting causing injury, obstruction. After he was processed, Cooke was transported back to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On September 25, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Sgt. Roary Miller and Police Officers Harry Montalvo, Harold Milne, Ramon Estrella, and Rose Kanan responded to the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St., on reports of criminal mischief to a vehicle. When they arrived, the victim pointed to a woman, later identified as 31-year-old Debby Torres, who has no known address. Torres was found to have an outstanding warrant in Hoboken for trespassing and she was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest found her in possession of a glass cylindrical pipe burnt on one side with copper wire on the inside, commonly used to smoke CDS crack cocaine. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she was charged with bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was processed and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. The investigation into the damaged vehicle continues.
