Two Injured Following a Shootout In Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that on October 5, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Paterson Police Department received information that two males, the first male, a 33-years-old from Paterson, and the second male, a 28-years-old from Paterson, were involved in a shoot-out in the area of Straight Street and Park Avenue. The first male was struck in the head and throughout his torso while the second male received non-life-threatening wounds. Both males were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. The first male was currently listed as being in critical condition. The second male was listed as being in stable condition.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
