Hoboken Police Arrest Blotter Sep. 26, 2024 to Oct. 2, 2024

On September 26, 2024, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Police Officers Frank Losurdo and Anthony Ingraffia were on patrol when they observed a car speeding on Newark Street near Willow Avenue. Officers pulled the vehicle over. The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Naim Gilyard of Hoboken, could not produce a driver's license. It was learned Gilyard had a warrant for his arrest out of Hudson County for robbery. He was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was additionally charged with hindering apprehension. He was also issued a traffic summons for not having a driver's license or registration. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On September 26, 2024, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Police Officers Aidan Gonzalez and Arturo Gonzalez responded to Steven's Park, on reports of a mam exposing himself and masturbating in public. Upon arrival, officers located a man who fit the description of the actor and observed him still engaged in the reported behavior. Police Officers Nathaniel Arocho and John Lawton arrived on the scene to assist. The man, later identified as 43-year-old Lonnie Clark of Jersey City, was arrested. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with criminal sexual contact. He was found to have an active warrant out of Hoboken for criminal trespassing and one out of Passaic for obstructing the administration of law. Clark was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On September 26, 2024, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Police Officers Ricky Truppner and Dylan Allegretta responded to the 300 block of Monroe Street on report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a parked vehicle. Sgt. Roary Miller arrived on the scene to assist. As they were attempting to wake up the driver, later identified as 45-year-old Michael Mazzalla of Hoboken, officers observed two empty beer cans in a bag on his lap. The man had symptoms of someone who was overdosing and Narcan was administered. Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived on the scene to treat Mazzalla. He was ultimately transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, and issued a summons for reckless driving and having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. As per John’s Law, Mazzalla was released into the custody of a responsible party.

On September 27, 2024, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Harry Montalvo were on patrol when they observed a man sleeping in the vestibule of Citizens Bank, 221 River St. They woke him up, identified him as 24-year-old Tyrese Buckhanon of Hoboken, and informed him he was not allowed to sleep in the vestibule. Police Officers Andrias Bonilla and Anish Bhisey arrived on the scene to assist. Buckhanon was issued a summons for defiant trespassing and released from the scene with a summons.

On September 27, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Police Officers Jennifer Lee, Arturo Gonzalez, and Carmen Benitez were in Church Square Park, when they were approached by a man who wanted to file a complaint against a woman who was also in the park for harassment which had occurred the day before. The victim claimed a woman, identified as 50-year-old Patricia Lavacchi of Jersey City, walked up to him in a menacing manner while waving her fist as if she was going to punch him. While they were filling out the report, Lavacchi approached and began yelling at the victim and officers. It was discovered she had two warrants out of Hoboken for harassment. Lavacchi was placed under arrest and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On September 27, 2024, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Police Officers Bianca Arroyo, Keven De La Cruz, and Domenick Allegretta responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of two people who had been detained by store security for shoplifting. An on-scene investigation revealed that two individuals, later identified as 26-year-old Michael Uriburu of Oceanside, NY and 26-year-old Timothy Klarmann of Ridgewood were seen concealing items in a tote bag and then tried to leave without paying for about $450.25 worth of the items they took. Both men were arrested for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. After being processed, they were released on a summons.

On September 27, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Police Officers Kyle Seper, Bianca Arroyo, and Keven De La Cruz responded to the area of Observer Highway and Monroe Street, on reports of a motor vehicle accident. When they arrived, they learned two cars had been stopped at a red light, when another vehicle hit both, injuring one person, and fled the scene. Officers located the other car around the corner on Monroe Street. It was still running and had front end damage and was leaking fluids. The driver, later identified as 45-year-old Patricia Fermin of Fort Lee, was in the driver's seat. When they approached her, officers observed her eyes to be glassy and could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath. She appeared dazed and her mannerisms were consistent with being under the influence. A field sobriety test was conducted, after which Fermin was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, improper backing and turning, failing to display vehicle registration, refusal to provide breath samples, and reckless driving. As per John’s Law she was released into the custody of a responsible party.

On September 28, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Police Officers Michael Aviles and Shelby Seickendick responded to the 300 block of Ninth Street on reports of an assault. An on-scene investigation revealed 25-year-old Arielle Fuhrman of Hoboken pushed another woman while the two were in a verbal argument. The push caused the other woman to hit her head and lose consciousness. Fuhrman was placed under arrest, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and processed on charges of aggravated assault. She was released with a summons.

On September 28, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Police Officers Shyenna Vega and Mark Mooreman responded to Baja Mexican Cuisine, 104 14th St., on reports of an intoxicated man acting disorderly. When they got there, employees pointed out the individual, later identified as 41-year-old Josue Ortize of Jersey City, sitting in the back of the establishment. When officers approached him, Ortize took a fighting stance, made fists, and walked toward officers. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa and Police Officers Kyle Seper, Luis Rodriguez, Rose Kanan, and Nicklas Valerius arrived on the scene to assist. Ortize took off his shirt and threw it to the ground, once again took a fighting stance, and threatened to fight officers. He was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct. He was ultimately released with a summons.

On September 29, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Police Officers Rose Kanan and Remy Garcia-Marte responded to the area of 14th and Washington Streets on reports of a person sleeping behind the wheel of a car while it was stopped at a red light. Officers approached the vehicle and woke up the driver, later identified as 52-year-old Derrick Borum of Mount Vernon, NY. He was ordered to put the car into park and turn it off, which he did. Officers found Borum to have red watery eyes and slurred speech. Police Officers Andrias Bonilla and Bianca Arroyo arrived on the scene to perform a field sobriety test, after which Borum was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and issued summonses for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. As per John’s Law he was released into the custody of a responsible party.

On September 29, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Police Officers Roberto Cuevas and Nathaniel Arocho processed the arrest of 35-year-old Ishita Gohell of Hoboken, who was brought to Hoboken Police Headquarters by Passaic Police. It was discovered Gohell had an active warrant out of Hoboken for burglary. She was charged with failure to appear, processed, and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On September 30, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and Aidan Gonzalez responded to Lululemon, 313 Washington St., on reports of a person who had previously shoplifted, back in the store. Sgt. Tyler Soto and Police Officers Roberto Cuevas, John Lawton, and Carmen Benitez arrived to assist. When officers located the actor, later identified as 32-year-old Dinard Leon of Brooklyn, near the dressing rooms, he became agitated and started walking. He was holding a bag of merchandise from the store but could not provide receipts for the items. Leon also could not provide identification at first and when he did, the license he provided officers was altered. Leon was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest located another altered driver’s license. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with hindering apprehension, uttering (knowingly using a forged document), and providing false government documents. He was processed and released on a summons.

On September 30, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Sgt. Wiliam Collins, and Police Officers Alyssa Rivera and Valentino Salgado were conducting a building sweep on the 300 block of Marshall Drive, when they located two people on the top floor. The individuals, later identified as 44-year-old Marilyn Rivera of Union City and 30-year-old Jonathan Gabriel-Rodriguez of Jersey City, did not live in the building, and they were arrested for defiant trespassing. A search incident arrest of Gabriel-Rodriguez located a glass cylindrical pipe burnt on one end and he was further charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. They were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and it was learned Rivera had a warrant out of Hoboken for possession of drug paraphernalia. Gabriel-Rodriguez was released on a summons. Rivera was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On September 30, 2024., at approximately 6:30 p.m., Police Officers Shelby Seickendick and John Rodriguez responded to the 1100 block of Sinatra Drive on reports of a tent pitched in the bushes, which they saw inside a wooded area in Maxwell Place Park. The owner of the tent, later identified as 37-year-old Brittany Kennedy of Union City, was told she would have to take the tent down. It was learned she had warrants out of Hoboken for burglary and one out of Union City for harassment. She was arrested for failure to appear and issued a summons for putting up the tent. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and then taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 1, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Police Officers Nicklas Valerius and Harry Montalvo responded to the 300 block of Washington Street on reports that a disorderly person, involved in an earlier incident, was at that location. They located the woman and asked her for her name and information, which she refused. Police Officers Shelby Seickendick and Ramon Estrella arrived to assist. The woman was placed under arrest for obstructing the administration of law and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she eventually provided her personal information and was identified as 44-year-old Cassandra Gipson of West New York. She was found to have a warrant out of Hoboken for simple assault. She was also charged with bail jumping and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 1, 2024, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Geovanni Cruzado responded to the 100 block of Willow Avenue who pulled a fire alarm in an apartment she doesn’t live in. An on-scene investigation revealed the actor, later identified as 37-year-old Alicia Boykin of Jersey City, pushed her way into an apartment of someone she does not know, sat on the couch, pulled the fire alarm, and left. Boykin was charged with burglary and false public alarm. She was ultimately transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and released on a summons with a court date.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Police Officers Alyssa Rivera and Arturo Gonzalez were on the 200 block of Bloomfield Street when they saw a man they identified as 33- year-old Daquan Fletcher of Hoboken, and knew he was wanted for a shoplifting at Nike, 222 Washington St. that took place on September 25, during which approximately $2,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from the store. Fletcher was arrested on Oct. 2, and a search incident to arrest located a wax fold. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was found to have a warrant out of Jersey City for theft. He was processed on the shoplifting charge and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Daniela Simone responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifter being detained by store security. An on-scene investigation revealed the actor, later identified 53-year-old Jamian Latimore of Hoboken, was seen putting approximately $64.92 worth of items into his pants. He was arrested for shoplifting and a search incident to arrest located a broken pipe in his left front pocket. Latimore was transferred to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed on charges of shoplifting and possession of drug paraphrenia. It was learned he originally gave officers the wrong name, so he was also charged with hindering. It was discovered Latimore had a warrant out of Hudson County. He complained of not feeling well, and when Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived to assist, he threatened the EMTs, by saying to them “You will need a doctor next.” He was further charged with making terroristic threats. Latimore was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
