Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

The DPW and the Recycling Center will be closed on Monday for the Veterans Day holiday. East side refuse will be picked up as scheduled. The DPW is clearing the roads of leaves. Please slow down while driving and be aware of DPW workers, pedestrians, and pets that may be walking around the leaf piles. Also, please do not place leaf piles within 10' of storm drains or 25' from stop signs.

Saturday and Sunday at the Nature Center families with children 4 and up can enjoy a fun seasonal scavenger hunt. Work as a team and independently solve nature riddles along the trails. Fall fun for all. Register for this and more at: https://tenaflynaturecenter.org/

Register now on Community Pass for the 3rd Annual Friendsgiving event for all 6th to 10th graders to be hosted at the Teen Center on November 15.

This coming week the Tenafly Library Friends is having two special events. On Tuesday, November 12 at 1 pm, the Friends will be showing the movie Perfect Days as part of their Tuesday Afternoon movie series. This acclaimed film was nominated for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards. It runs for 1 hour and 24 minutes and is in Japanese with English sub-titles.

The Library Friends second event is on Thursday, November 14 at 7 pm in the Library. The Friends are pleased to present an author book talk with Frances Cha who will discuss her popular book, If I had Your Face, as well as talk about some of the children's books she has written. Her book will be available for sale and signing.

The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is hosting the Sports Night of Champions 2024 on Thursday, November 14. This Celebration of Jewish Athletes and Legends is set to be an evening of inspiration. This spectacular night will be epic, featuring the legendary Walt "Clyde" Frazier, the iconic voice of the New York Knicks and Basketball Hall of Fame inductee. The newest member of the New York Knicks, all-star center Karl-Anthony Towns, has been added to the star-studded event! Highlights will include a Hall of Fame Ceremony for our inductees and a live auction with exclusive items and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Additionally, the Joseph Taub Scholar Athlete Awards will be presented to outstanding student-athletes. Join us in celebrating these remarkable individuals! The Tenafly Holiday Fair is coming on December 14. Please sign up to participate in a variety of opportunities: Perform on the community stage, sponsor an activity, set up a vendor booth in the artisan market, or volunteer to help run the event.
