Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge
Isa Abbassi announce that on November 12, 2024, at approximately 3:49 a.m., officers
from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Godwin Avenue and Rosa
Parks Boulevard in response to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located
evidence of a shooting including ballistic evidence. Patrol officers were then notified of a car
accident in front of Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center. One of the vehicle’s occupants, a
27-year-old male from Paterson, exited the vehicle and went inside the hospital with a gunshot
wound and was admitted for treatment. The other occupant of the vehicle, a 21-year-old male
from Staten Island, New York, was located inside the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds and
was subsequently pronounced deceased.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
