1. On November 8th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of
Jackson Street and 70th Street after receiving a report of a male trespassing inside of a vacant property. At the request of
the property manager, officers began to clear the interior of the vacant home to ensure no one was inside. During this
process, officers located 56-year-old Remberto Oliver of West New York, NJ, inside of the property and then placed him
under arrest for criminal trespass [2C:18-3A]. During his arrest processing, it was discovered that Mr. Oliver also had two
active warrants for his arrest, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Upon the completion of his arrest processing,
Mr. Oliver was issued his complaint summons and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center for the active
warrants.
2. On November 8th, 2024, the Elizabeth Police Department contacted the Guttenberg Police Department, informing us
that they had a male in their custody with an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Officers from
the Elizabeth Police Department transported 55-year-old Israel Lynn Jr. of Elizabeth, NJ, to our police headquarters for
his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Lynn was lodged in the Hudson County
Correctional Center.
3. On November 9th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
arrested 34-year-old Luis J. Tapia of Union City, NJ, for hindering his own apprehension [2C:29-3B] after providing
officers with conflicting identifying information. Mr. Tapia was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department
for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Tapia was issued his complaint summons,
numerous summonses for traffic violations, and then released from police custody.
4. On November 10th, 2024, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Cliffside Park Police Department,
informing our agency that they had a male in their custody with a warrant issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
Shortly after, officers from the Cliffside Park Police Department arrived at our police headquarters, where 21-year-old
Joseph A. Ephrem of North Bergen, NJ, was placed under arrest. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr.
Ephrem was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
5. On November 10th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 25-year-old Isaiah
R. Guzman of Spring, TX, for an active warrant issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court, after he had walked into police
headquarters to provide bail for another individual arrested for active warrants. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Guzman was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg
Municipal Court.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven
guilty in a court of law.
