Secaucus Police Blotter 11/18/2024 to 11/24/2024

On 11/18/2024 at 6:24 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 38-year-old male, Alphonso Jackson of New York, NY along with a 36-year-old female, Tameka Barber of New York, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Both Mr. Jackson and Ms. Barber were issued their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On 11/19/2024 at 11:39 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 49-year-old male, Sylvester Lewis of the Bronx, NY for Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A] for having a stolen license plate affixed to his vehicle. Mr. Lewis was issued his complaint summons along with 2 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On 11/19/2024 at 3:04 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Best Buy located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of an individual attempting to return unauthentic items in place of Apple products. During the investigation, the police arrested a 32-year-old male, Lingbin Jiang of Secaucus, NJ for Theft by Deception [2C:20-4A] and Criminal Simulation [2C:21-2]. Mr. Jiang was found to have made another fraudulent return on 11/18/2024. He was additionally charged with Theft by Deception [2C:20-4A] and Criminal Simulation [2C:21-2] for this incident. Mr. Jiang was issued 2 separate complaint warrants for both incidents and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 11/19/2024 at 5:19 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 39-year-old male, Romany Zaky of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Possession of Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(2)]. Mr. Zaky was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 11/19/2024 at 8:47 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 28-year-old female, Nyasia Pencile of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)]. Ms. Pencile was also found to have 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Ramsey, NJ with no bail. Ms. Pencile was issued her complaint summons and officers from the Ramsey Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and took custody of Ms. Pencile for transport back to their agency.

On 11/20/2024 at 1:10 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Sam’s Club located at 300 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 59-year-old male, Pedro Rojas of Union City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)] along with a 51-year-old male, Luis Garcia of Union City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Garcia was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Both Mr. Rojas and Mr. Garcia were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 11/20/2024 at 5:26 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Sam’s Club located at 300 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 44-year-old female, Jacqueline Valentin of Bronx, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Ms. Valentin was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 11/20/2024 at 1:02 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Bergen County Jail to take into custody a 49-year-old female, Melissa Sheppard of Woodridge, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ with no bail. The outstanding warrant was issued for the charge of Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] in relation to a shoplifting that occurred at Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on 11/01/2024. Ms. Sheppard was issued her outstanding complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 11/21/2024 at 11:19 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 30-year-old male, Kourtney Chalmers of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $700.00. Mr. Chalmers was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 11/21/2024 at 1:30 PM, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred at Marshall’s located at 400 Millcreek Drive on 11/04/2024, the police arrested a 35-year-old male, Borge Chaljub of the Bronx, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Mr. Chalijub was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road. Mr. Chalijub was also found to have committed a shoplifting on 11/12/2024 and he was subsequently charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] for this incident as well. Mr. Chalijub was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 11/23/2024 at 6:30 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 50-year-old male, Jamian Latimore of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Crack/Cocaine [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2A] and Resisting Arrest [2C:29-2A(2)]. The police also arrested a 49-year-old male, Corey Jeter of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)], Unlawful Use of a Credit Card [2C:21-6C(1)] and Resisting Arrest [2C:29-2A(2)]. Both Mr. Latimore and Mr. Jeter were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
