Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Patrick Murray announce that at approximately 6:50 p.m. on December 8, 2024, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Van Blarcom Street and Sassafras Street on a report of a shooting. Police were informed that a 24-year-old male victim from Passaic, N.J. had arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment, via private vehicle, for a nonfatal gunshot wound. A potential crime scene was located in the area.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
