Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
As mentioned last week, there is no more leaf collection from the street this season. For any remaining leaves, please have them removed by a landscaper or placed in bio-degradable bags and schedule for pickup by the DPW by calling 201-568-4134.
Catch the Holiday spirit at our second annual Holiday Fair this Saturday, December 14, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in Oresko Park. Enjoy ice skating, the community stage with local performers, create festive art with the kids, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa, and sample the food trucks as you browse through the beautiful handcrafted goods at the artisan market featuring local and regional vendors. Individuals and families are welcome to visit the Nature Center this weekend and enjoy several fun seasonal activities. On Sunday at 11 am, visitors can enjoy learning how cold winter weather finds many animals curled up in their dens to stay warm for the winter in Hibernation Happenings. Then, at 5 pm this Sunday, adults and families with children 4 and up can celebrate the changing season at TNC's Winter Solstice Campfire and Night Hike. Caroling and Christmas Tree Lighting in the Presbyterian Church Sanctuary this Sunday December 15, at 5:00 pm. If you wish, you can stay for a Fish and Chips (or Chicken and Chips) dinner at 5:45 pm. Dessert and drinks included. $20 per person for dinner, $10 kids meal. Book now! (201) 567-0111.

The Tenafly Interact Club is hosting a Holiday Toy Drive to benefit The Salvation Army and Emerson Health. Please donate new, unused toys at one of the following locations: Children’s Corner Preschool, 34 W. Clinton Avenue, and the Korean Community Center, 100 Grove Street. If you'd like to donate items for Senior Citizens, please place them in plastic bags.
