Greenwich Township Police Officer Arrested for Falsifying Records

In August 2024, after receiving information from the Greenwich Township Police Department, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation regarding entries made into the police department’s Records Management System, by Patrolman Tyler Roller.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, Tyler Roller, of the Greenwich Township Police Department, was arrested and charged as follows;

1) Falsifying or tampering with records, specifically by entering two names in the Greenwich Township Police Department Records Management System for incidents they were not involved in, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-4a, a crime of the fourth degree.

2) Tampering with Public Records or Information, specifically by making false entries in records belonging to, received or kept by the government, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:28- 7a(1), a disorderly persons offense.

Fourth degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 18 months in New Jersey State Prison, and disorderly persons offenses carry a maximum sentence of six months in a County Correctional Center.

The charges are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The investigation was conducted by the Greenwich Township Police Department and the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
