Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
Borough Hall and the DPW will be closing early at Noon on December 24 and will be closed all day on December 25.
The Tuesday, December 24, Zone 3 commingled recycling will be picked up as scheduled, and the Wednesday, December 25, East side paper recycling is rescheduled to Saturday, December 28. There is no change to the trash pickup schedule for the holidays.
Remember to support your local Tenafly businesses this holiday season! Shop the shops and dine nearby, show your Tenafly businesses some extra love! Be sure to check their holiday store schedule for holiday hours.
We are excited to announce that the former privately-run Tenakill Swim Club adjacent to the High School will now be run by the Borough and named the Tenafly Municipal Pool. Registration for the summer of 2025 is available now on Community Pass. Register by February 28, 2025 to secure your spot at the pool and receive an early-bird discount. Varsity Winter Sports opened this week. Next up is Varsity Girls Basketball hosting their home opener this Saturday at Noon.
The Nature Center wishes everyone a happy holiday season and encourages all to enjoy time outside along the trails this week. The Nature Center buildings will be closed on Wednesday, December 25 but will reopen on Thursday the 26. Please consider supporting the Nature Center this giving season with a year-end donation. The Tenafly Interact Club is hosting a Holiday Toy Drive to benefit The Salvation Army and Emerson Health. Please donate new, unused toys at one of the following locations: Children’s Corner Preschool, 34 West Clinton Avenue, and the Korean Community Center, 100 Grove Street. If you'd like to donate items for Senior Citizens, please place them in plastic bags.
