Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
On Tuesday, December 31, Borough Hall will be closing at Noon, and while the DPW front office will close at 10:30 am, the DPW will be ready to respond to any weather events or emergencies. Both offices will be closed all day on January 1.
There is no Tuesday recycling next week, as it is the 5th Tuesday of the month. The Wednesday, New Years Day East side paper recycling is rescheduled to Saturday, January 4. There is no change to your normal trash pickup schedule next week.
In high school sports news, the winter season is off to a great start with Boys and Girls Basketball as well as Boys and Girls Swimming being undefeated through the first 2 weeks of the Winter Season. Ice Hockey stands at 3 to 1 and Wrestling had a strong showing in their opening tournament with 3 medal winners.
For all those celebrating, you are invited to a public Menorah lighting on Monday, December 30 at 7:00 pm in Huyler Park. Light refreshments will be served by the hosts.
The Nature Center wishes everyone a happy and healthy new year and encourages all to enjoy time outside along the trails this week. The Nature Center buildings will be closed on Wednesday, January 1 but will reopen on Thursday, January 2. Please consider supporting TNC this giving season with a year-end donation.
