Guttenberg Police Blotter: December 23, 2024 to December 29, 2024

1. On December 24th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to our police headquarters after a male entered and informed our organization that he had an active warrant for his arrest. At that time, officers arrested 33-year-old Jose T. Gonzalez-Jacobo of Union City, NJ. Mr. Gonzalez-Jacobo was then processed and released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.

2. On December 25th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division were attempting to arrest 31-year-old Ramiro L. Curruchich of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50] and two active warrants for his arrest. During his arrest, Mr. Curruchich resisted arrest and attempted to run away on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Mr. Curruchich was apprehended and transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Mr. Curruchich was also charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:12-1B(5)(A), obstructing the administration of law [2C:29-1A], resisting arrest [2C:29-2A(1)], resisting arrest with physical force [2C:29-2A(3)(A)], and resisting arrest by flight [2C:29-2A(2)]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Curruchich was issued his complaint summons, numerous summonses for traffic violations, and then released into the custody of a responsible adult.

3. On December 26th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 55-year-old Gilberto Cadiz of Vernon, NJ, and 33-year-old Roxanna M. Santa-Maria of Vernon, NJ, after discovering that both individuals had an active warrant for their arrest, issued by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Cadiz and Ms. Santa-Maria were both transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for their arrest processing. Upon the completion of their arrest processing, both defendants were transferred into the custody of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office.

4. On December 26th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 500 block of 68th Street after receiving a report of a motor vehicle accident. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 26-year-old Juan C. Cumatzil-Sutuj of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Cumatzil-Sutuj was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Cumatzil-Sutuj was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released into the care of staff from the Palisades Medical Center.


The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
