Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-InCharge Patrick Murray announce that on January 3, 2025, at approximately 12:34 p.m., patrol units from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Mercer Street and Franklin Street on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the victim, a 25-year-old male from Paterson, lying motionless on the ground with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
