1. On January 11th, 2025, the New Jersey State Police contacted the Guttenberg Police Department and informed us
that they had a female in their custody with two active warrants, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Members of
the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to NJSP Holmdel Station, where they arrested 31-yearold Jacquelin M. Velez of West New York, NJ. Ms. Velez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for
her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Velez was released on her own recognizance,
pending her next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
2. On January 12th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 68th
Street and Madison Street for a motor vehicle accident. During their on-scene investigation, one of the passengers
involved in the accident was found to have an active warrant, issued by the Garfield Municipal Court. When officers
attempted to arrest the female, she began to resist. After overcoming her resistance, officers arrested 31-year-old
Yurissa B. Cueva of Guttenberg, NJ. Ms. Cueva was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest
processing. Ms. Cueva was then also charged with obstructing the administration of law [2C:29-1A] and resisting arrest
[2C:20-2A(1)]. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Cueva was issued her complaint summons and then
released on her own recognizance.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven
guilty in a court of law.
