Guttenberg Police Blotter: January 27, 2025 to February 2, 2025

1. On January 27th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the intersection of 70th Street and Bergenline Avenue for a report of an unwanted male inside of an establishment. Officers met with the male and escorted him away from the property. The male then walked towards 68th Street and Bergenline Avenue, attempting to get inside of another establishment. The male was not allowed inside by the establishment staff, at which point he became irate. Officers attempted to prevent the male from escalating the situation, at which point 39-year-old Jose M. Alonso of West New York, NJ, attempted to punch the responding officer. Mr. Alonso was then placed under arrest after attempting to resist officer control. During his arrest, Mr. Alonso made numerous threats to harm the responding officers. At the Guttenberg Police Department, Mr. Alonso was charged with criminal attempt/aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:5-1A(1)/2C:12-1B(5)(A)]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Alonso was issued his complaint warrant and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

2. On January 27th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the intersection of 69th Street and Park Avenue for a report of a fight. Officers found a female matching the description of an involved individual near-by. During their on-scene investigation, 40-year-old Christine E. Obrien of West New York, NJ, threw a pencil at a responding officer and threatened to take his gun and shoot him. Ms. Obrien was then arrested and transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. At Guttenberg police headquarters, Ms. Obrien was charged with criminal mischief [2C:17-3], aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:12-1B(5)(A)], possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose[2C:39-4(D)], unlawful possession of a weapon [2C:39-5D], terroristic threats [2C:12-3B] and contempt of court [2C:29-9A(1)]. Ms. Obrien was also issued a local ordinance for littering. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Obrien was issued her complaint warrant and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

3. On January 28th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 28-year-old Christian I. Ganay-Guallpa of Jersey City, NJ, after he walked into the Guttenberg Municipal Court with an active warrant. Mr. Ganay-Guallpa was then walked down to the police department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Ganay-Guallpa was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance.

4. On January 31st, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 33-year-old Gregory L. Hernandez-Rodriguez of Newark, NJ, after discovering that he an active warrant, issued by the Old Tappan Municipal Court. Mr. Hernandez-Rodriguez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Hernandez-Rodriguez was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Old Tappan Municipal Court.

5. On February 1st, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a parking complaint on 71st Street. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 48-year-old Roxana D. Vallejos-Soto of Union City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Vallejos-Soto was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Vallejos-Soto was issued her traffic summonses and then released into the care of staff at the Palisades Medical Center.
