Guttenberg Police Blotter: January 13, 2025 to January 19, 2025

1. On January 14th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 27-year-old Christian O. Padron of Guttenberg, NJ, after discovering that he an active warrant, issued by the Union City Municipal Court. Mr. Padron was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. During his arrest processing, an additional warrant was found to be active for his arrest, issued by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Padron was transported to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, where he was turned over into their custody.

2. On January 14th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 34-year-old Daffton A. Bloomfield of Jersey City, NJ, after discovering that he had two active warrants, issued by the Union Township Municipal Court and he Woodbridge Municipal Court. Mr. Daffton was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Daffton was transferred into the custody of officers from the Woodbridge Police Department.

3. On January 15th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division observed a vehicle running, with the driver appearing to be asleep behind the wheel. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 45-year-old Florencio E. Avelar-Hernandez of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Avelar-Hernandez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Avelar-Hernandez was issued his traffic summons and then released to the custody of a responsible adult.

4. On January 17th, 2025, while addressing a parking complaint, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 30-year-old Andersson J. Granados of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Granados was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Granados was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released to the care of staff at the Palisades Medical Center.

5. On January 17th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 29-year-old Liana Alvarez of Englewood, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Alvarez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Alvarez was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released to the care of a responsible adult.

6. On January 19th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 24-year-old Evan W. Perez of Guttenberg, NJ, after discovering that he had an active warrant for his arrest. Mr. Perez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Perez was issued multiple summonses for traffic violations and then released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance.

7. On January 19th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 35-year-old Hugo Cruz-Mateo of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. While officers attempted to sit Mr. Cruz-Mateo inside of a police vehicle, he attempted to kick and strike officers with his feet and resisted being seated inside of the police vehicle. Officers also found multiple credit cards with a white powdery residue on them, believed to be cocaine, on his person. At the Guttenberg Police Department, Mr. Cruz-Mateo was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:12-1B(5)(A)], two (2) counts of obstructing the administration of law [2C:29-1A], the possession of a controlled dangerous substance [2C:35-10A(1)] and possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-2A]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Cruz-Mateo was issued is complaint warrant, numerous summonses for traffic violations and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.
