
On January 23, at approximately 7:15 PM, officers responded to the Marshall’s store on a reported shoplifting. Officers were advised that the suspect left the store prior to their arrival. Sgt. Ryan Tenney observed the suspect walking near Godwin Avenue and placed him under arrest. Ricardo E. Campos Bardales, Elmwood Park NJ, age 44, was transported to headquarters and charged with shoplifting, possession of tools to defeat anti-shoplifting devices, and obstruction of justice. He was released from custody pending a court date.
On January 24, at approximately 2:15 PM, officers responded to ShopRite on a shoplifter that was being detained by store personnel. Officers were advised that the suspect had attempted to bypass the registers and exit the store without paying for the items in his shopping cart. Edward Gordon, Midland Park NJ, age 66, was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. He was charged with 3rd degree shoplifting and released pending a court date.
On January 24, at approximately 5:15 PM, officers responded to the Marshall’s store on a reported shoplifting. Officers were advised that the suspects had left the area in a Hyundai Elantra. P.O. Joseph Fullam observed the vehicle exiting the shopping center and stopped it on Franklin Avenue. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Sandra L. Vivas, Roselle NJ, age 48, and passenger Gianfranco M. Yataco Sancho, Paterson NJ, age 35. Vivas was charged with one count each of shoplifting and receiving stolen property. She was released from custody pending a court date. Yataco Sancho was charged with one count each of shoplifting and receiving stolen property. He was found to have an arrest warrant from Wayne NJ and was remanded to the Bergen County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center.
The Wyckoff Police Department would like to point out that the above individuals have been charged with a crime, offense, and or motor vehicle violations. However, they are presumed innocent unless and until they are found guilty in a court of law.
We cannot stress enough the value of our residents remaining alert in their neighborhoods and reporting anything unusual or suspicious to the police, “Hear It! See It!, Report It!”
