School Employee Charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Philip J. Carlton
Stewartsville, New Jersey
Age: 60

On Friday, February 7, 2025, the Belvidere Police Department received a report of a physical assault upon a 5 year old victim. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Philip J. Carlton, a public school teacher aide.

On the same date Philip J. Carlton was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2), a crime of the second degree. The second degree crime carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

The charges are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The investigation was conducted by the Belvidere Police Department.
