
9/1/2024 10:55 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A caller reported a male party sleeping in a running vehicle parked at a West Passaic Street supermarket. The male party, suspected of intoxication, was removed from the vehicle and administered field sobriety tests. The driver, a 46- year-old male from Hackensack, was arrested and found to be almost twice the legal limit. Several summonses were issued and the party was released to a friend.

A Rochelle Avenue resident reported loud music from another resident. Officers spoke with the 44-year-old resident and he agreed to lower his music, all in order.
9/3/2024 1:42 PM (Breach of Peace)
An employee of a Rochelle Avenue pharmacy reported a female outside of the store with a head injury. Several witnesses reported a physical fight between a male and female. Both parties fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers reviewed surveillance video in attempts to acquire a license plate.
9/4/2024 9:56 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A Patrolman reported stopping a party who was urinating behind a West Passaic Street hotel. The male, a 31-year-old from Newark, initially refused to identify himself. He was eventually identified as a wanted party out of Little Ferry and Clinton. The male was arrested and agencies with wants were notified.
9/4/2024 11:46 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A Patrolman observed a vehicle travelling on Essex Street without headlights. A motor vehicle stop ensued and the driver was found to have an open warrant for terroristic threats. Officers arrested a 40-year-old male from Hackensack and transported him to Hackensack Police Department.
9/5/2024 2:50 PM, (Commitment - Involuntary)
A Passaic Street hotel reported a guest that refused to check out. Responding officers located a 35-year-old female in the lobby wearing a towel around her waist, but no undergarments. After speaking with the female for several minutes, and being exposed to several "flashes", it was determined that she would be transported to a medical facility to undergo an evaluation.
9/5/2024 9:55 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A caller reported a dispute outside of a Cedar Drive residence. A male party fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival. A patrol officer located the vehicle and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The driver, a 24-year-old from Guttenberg, was arrested for suspicion of DWI. He additionally refused to provide breath samples. Several summonses were issued and the arrestee was released to a family member.
9/6/2024 3:46 AM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer observed a suspicious vehicle on Rochelle Avenue while enforcing overnight parking. In the course of this observation the driver exited a vehicle and sat in the rear seat. The driver, a 48-year-old male from Hackensack was arrested on suspicious of DWI. A search incident to arrest revealed a baggies of cocaine. The arrestee was charged with DWI and possession of C.D.S.. He was released to a family member.

An attendant of a Route 17 service station reported a dispute with a customer. The customers' card was declined and he was refused fuel. An argument ensued and an officer settled the dispute, each party went separate ways.
9/7/2024 11:30 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A caller reported a male party in the lobby of a Passaic Street hotel making guests feel unsafe. Responding officers located an intoxicated 45-year-old male from Paterson. A computer check revealed an open warrant issued by the Bergen County Sheriff's Department. The male was arrested and turned over to Sherriff's Officers.
9/8/2024 3:51 PM, (Fraud)
A resident of Oak Street reported a Capital One Bank credit card was opened in his name. Charges totaling $2,000 were made, however, contact with the banks' fraud department halted further losses. Detectives were assigned.
9/8/2024 11:46 PM, (Robbery)
A West Passaic Street supermarket reported a shoplifter resisting arrest and assaulting loss prevention officers. Patrol subdued the suspect and recovered $264 worth of stolen proceeds. The suspect, a 31-year-old male from Paterson, also possessed an open warrant from Clifton Police. The male was charged with robbery and turned over to Clifton Officers.
9/9/2024 10:27 PM, (Narcotics Arrest)
A vehicle not displaying a front license plate passed a patrol officer on Route 17. A computer check revealed the registered owner was wanted by the Essex County Sheriff's Office. A motor vehicle stop ensued and the 32 year old male driver from Maplewood was found to possess illegal prescription drugs, stolen checks, credit cards, and $2,000 in U.S. currency. The driver was arrested and charged with C.D.S. possession, forgery, credit card theft, and possession of property derived from criminal activity. The arrestee was lodged in the Bergen County Jail.
9/10/2024 2:17 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a BMW travelling at a high rate of speed on Central Avenue. The driver observed the patrol car, turned on to Susquehanna Ave. and quickly parked. The suspect, a 26-year-old male from Roselle, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. He proceeded to refuse to submit to breath testing and was issued several additional summonses.
9/10/2024 12:31 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol Sergeant conducted a motor vehicle stop for equipment violations on Rochelle Avenue. The driver, a 53-year-old male from Jersey City, was found to have an open child support warrant out of Passaic County. The driver was arrested and turned over to Passaic County Sheriffs.
9/10/2024 10:23 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle travelling on Plaza Way without a front license plate. A stop ensued and the driver was found to have a traffic warrant out of Paterson. The 27-year-old male driver from Paterson was arrested and turned over to his hometown PD.
9/11/2024 1:19 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle stopped at a green light on Passaic Street. A stop ensued and the driver subsequently failed sobriety tests. A BAC level of .14% was acquired. Several summonses were issued and the driver, a 35-year-old male resident, was released to a family member.
9/11/2024 11:12 AM, (Theft by Deception)
A West Passaic Street realty company reported illegal wire transfers equally almost $100,000. Detectives were assigned, identified a former employee as a suspect, and made an arrest on 9/27. A 53-year-old female from Leonia was charged with 2nd degree theft by deception. A court date is pending.
9/11/2024 1:10 PM, (Detective Investigation)
Detectives followed up on a car burglary from August. Surveillance footage was gathered and shared with surrounding agencies. A suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest. A 34-year-old male from Bayonne is currently wanted for multiple vehicle burglaries.
9/12/2024 2:53 PM, (Welfare Check)
A 911 caller reported her mother would not allow her to go to the bowling alley. Patrol responded, found no emergency conditions, and educated the caller on the proper use of the 911 system.
9/14/2024 1:01 AM, (Noise Complaint)
A caller from Madison Avenue reported loud music from a white sedan. Patrol located a 45-year-old Hasbrouck Heights man who was listening to music with his girlfriend. He was asked to lower his music and he complied.
9/14/2024 2:14 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A Patrol Officer observed a driver on Essex Street utilizing a cellular phone. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and impaired driving was suspected. The driver, a 21-year-old male from the Township, was arrested and charged with DWI. A breath sample yielded a reading more than twice the legal limit. A friend picked up the arrestee from headquarters.

A Patrol Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Jeep on Rochelle Avenue. The driver, a 32-year-old male from Passaic, was found to have an open NCIC warrant out of the Passaic County Sheriff's Office. The driver was arrested and turned over to Passaic County Sheriffs.
9/14/2024 10:51 PM, (Narcotics Arrest)
A Patrol Officer observed a vehicle on Passaic Street almost cause a collision. A motor vehicle stop ensued and the driver quickly jumped into a rear seat and pretended to sleep. The driver was arrested for suspicion of DWI. In the course of the stop, officers located narcotics, stolen credit cards, $32,000 in U.S. currency, and several driveway paving flyers. The driver and passenger, a 25- year-old from Richmond Hill, NY and a 23-year-old from Morganville, were both issued a slew of charges, including credit cart theft, money laundering, and C.D.S. possession. The arrestees were lodged in the Bergen County Jail.
In addition, (28) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (134) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 16-day span.
A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
