A caller reported 2 males fighting in front of a West Passaic Street auto body shop. Patrol arrived and found a father holding up his adult son. The son was reported to be under the influence of an unknown substance, and he was unable to answer questions. EMS was requested and transported the 24-year-old male patient from Paterson.
5/15/2024 10:02 PM, (Aggravated Assault - Arrest)
A caller reported an employee of a Rochelle Avenue gas station was just assaulted. Responding officers learned that the boyfriend of a customer threw bleach in the face of mechanic. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Detectives identified the actor, a 33-year-old male from Hackensack, and arrested him in Teaneck. Charges for aggravated assault were issued and the suspect was released.
5/16/2024 12:03 AM (Narcotics - Arrest)
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle idling for an extended period of time on Durand Place. Responding officers observed open containers of alcohol and marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was found to have provided a false name. A K-9 alert led to a vehicle search which uncovered (43) tablets of suspected Ecstasy pills.

A caller reported two juveniles on the roof of Houghton Hall. Patrol located the juveniles, both 10-year-old residents, and contacted their guardians. A curbside warning was issued.
5/17/2024 10:22 PM, (Breach of Peace - Customer Dispute)
A caller reported being asked to leave a West Passaic Street hotel because she complained about the room. Police spoke with front desk staff and negotiated a compromise. The complainant checked out the following morning.

Patrol was summoned to an Oldis Street residence for a father/son dispute. The father answered the door and stated his adult son disrespected his mother and he requested that he leave. Contact was made with the 31-year-old son who stated that his father is crazy, however, he will leave the house. The male resident left in an Uber, all was in order.

A caller reported a male party in the area of a West Passaic Street supermarket, begging customers for money. Officers located a 55-year-old male, holding a Vodka bottle, and having difficulty standing. EMS was summoned and the patient was committed to a local facility.
5/20/2024 4:13 PM, (Harassment)
A male party reported harassment from an ex-girlfriend. The complainant believes his "ex" utilized his Amazon account to order a light up cross and a racist board game. A temporary restraining order was requested and granted by the municipal judge. Officers served the defendant.
5/21/2024 9:11 AM, (Shoplifting)
Loss Prevention from a Passaic Street supermarket reported a male party entered the store during the early morning hours and shoplifted groceries valued at approximately $400. Detectives obtained images of the actor and broadcast them through investigative sites. The suspect was identified by Wyckoff Police as a 47-year-old Ramsey resident. Charges for shoplifting were issued.

A Lexington Avenue resident reported a verbal dispute among household members. A temporary restraining order was issued. The plaintiff was removed from the residence and transported to a Hackensack homeless shelter.
5/22/2024 7:10 AM, (Burglary)
A resident of Chestnut Street reported a burglary to his vehicles and residence. Detectives utilized surveillance videos to learn that unknown actors entered his vehicle, and proceeded to enter his home through a window. The actors appeared to be searching for BMW keys in an attempt to steal the vehicle. Detectives are working with local agencies as these same actors are responsible for similar crimes in neighboring towns.
5/22/2024 10:44 PM, (Attempted Burglary)
A West Oldis Street resident reported two actors attempted to enter his residence during the early morning hours. Detectives determined these were the same actors from the Chestnut Street event in which vehicle keys were sought. The burglary crew was targeting BMW brand vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.
5/23/2024 6:32 AM, (Juvenile Complaint)
A NJ Transit bus driver reported locating a 3-year-old boy, alone, walking on Passaic Street. Officer transported the juvenile to a local hotel where they found the parents asleep in a room. The parents explained that the child suffers from Autism and wanders away at times. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was contacted.
5/23/2024 10:18 AM, (Theft)
A resident of a West Passaic Street apartment complex reported two of her mountain bike style bicycles were stolen. One of the items was not secured with a chain, one was. No serial numbers or surveillance videos were available.
5/24/2024 9:05 AM, (Arrest - Adult)
An officer was passed by an erratic motorcycle operator. As the officer attempted to stop the driver, he fled and lost control of the cycle near Route 4. After a brief struggle the suspect was apprehended and the motorcycle was found to be stolen. Criminal complaints for eluding and receiving stolen property were issued to the 21-year-old male arrestee from Hackensack.
5/25/2024 6:30 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A resident from Lexington Avenue reported a restraining order violation. The defendant returned to the home and was promptly arrested. The 25-year-old male actor was charged and deposited in the Bergen County Jail.

A resident from Lexington Avenue reported a restraining order violation. The defendant returned to the home and was promptly arrested. The 25-year-old male actor was charged and deposited in the Bergen County Jail once again.
5/28/2024 4:08 PM, (Sudden Death)
A 911 call reported a 39-year-old female from Lodi was unresponsive in a West Passaic Street hotel. Paramedics made a death pronouncement and detectives, the medical examiner, and County Sheriff's BCI units were dispatched. A potential accidental narcotics overdose was investigated.
5/29/2024 5:17 PM, (Fraud)
An elderly resident of Oldis Street reported being the victim of an elder scam. The suspects identified themselves as "Eagle Masonry and Roofing" and relayed to the resident that his roof needed repair. A price of $8500 was agreed upon. The victim's son responded and found only a 4x4 foot area of roofing was repaired which would cost far less than $8500. Detectives were notified.
5/29/2024 7:14 PM, (Domestic Violence)
A female resident of Durand Place reported her adult son visited and requested prescription medications. He was denied the medication and proceeded to cause damage to a TV and a vehicle. Officers identified the male, a 56-year-old Hackensack resident, and issued warrants for Criminal Mischief. A temporary restraining order was also issued.
5/31/2024 6:03 AM, (Arrest Adult)
A resident from Lexington Avenue reported a restraining order violation. The defendant returned to the home and then left the scene. The 25-year-old male actor responded to headquarters where he was charged and committed to a local medical facility prior to jail commitment. Charges for violating a court order were issued for the 3rd time.
In addition, (28) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (94) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 16-day span.
A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
