12/17/2023 4:16 PM, (Annoying Phone Calls)
A female party repeatedly called police headquarters requesting to speak with a retired Lieutenant. The phone calls stemmed from a local mental health facility. The facility was contacted and agreed to limit phone privileges for the patient.

12/18/2023 6:00 AM, (Road Hazard(s))
Over the course of 4 hours, patrol officers located (7) different roadways affected by flood waters. Police vehicle and traffic cones were utilized to close impassable roadways.

12/18/2023 3:27 PM (Water Rescue)
A caller reported being stuck in flood water with her elderly mother. An officer responded in a Humvee, removed the occupants, and transported them to their residence on South Drive.

12/18/2023 5:38 PM, (Water Rescue)
A motorist drove his vehicle into flood waters on Railroad Avenue. The vehicle became disable and the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Police, assisted by Saddle Brook Fire Department, safely removed the driver from the water. The vehicle was towed from the scene once flooding receded.

12/19/2023 3:47 PM, (Fraud)
A resident of Howard Avenue reported multiple unauthorized PayPal transactions. In excess of $6,000 was transferred to accounts in Asia. The victim was advised to report to his bank and freeze all existing accounts. Detectives were assigned.

12/19/2023 11:09 PM, (Welfare Check)
A caller from Howard Avenue reported her husband was intoxicated, angry, and walking in the area. Patrol checked the area for the male subject, but were unable to locate him. The spouse reported her husband was not a danger to himself and requested no further police action.

12/21/2023 10:43 AM, (Fraud)
A Rochelle Avenue bank reported two male parties opened accounts and deposited $25. A few days later a check for nearly $9,000 was deposited. The two suspects then began to withdraw funds prior to the check clearing. The check eventually returned as fraudulent. Detectives reviewed bank surveillance and are developing suspects.

12/21/2023 9:57 PM, (Domestic Violence)
The front desk staff from a West Passaic Street hotel reported a dispute in the lobby. Responding officers located a distraught female who reported a struggle with her partner. The male party left the scene prior to police arrival. Officers investigated and issued a warrant for simple assault for the male, whom was already wanted by the Bergen County Sheriff's Office for child support default.

12/22/2023 1:19 AM, (Commitment / ATRA Law)
A caller from James Street reported an unknown male was on her front porch and is now hiding behind an SUV. Patrol located the male and described him as sleeping while standing. The male was also standing in a puddle of urine. EMS was summoned and the 35-year-old male from Hasbrouck Heights was committed to a local hospital. He was also issued a special complaint for "expectoration in public".

12/23/2023 11:59 AM, (Lost/Stolen Property)
A caller from a West Passaic Street hotel reported he left a bag with a friend, however, when he returned, the friend already checked out. The complainant stated he rushed to catch a flight and left a duffle bag with a friend he only knew as "girly". He missed his flight, returned to his hotel, and found the bag and "girly" were gone. Officers are working with hotel staff to identify the party known as "girly".

12/24/2023 4:11 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
Patrol received a report of a one car collision into a utility pole on Rochelle Avenue. The driver was located, failed field sobriety tests, and was arrested. The 35-year-old female driver from Bogota was charged with multiple offenses including failure to submit samples of her breath for testing.

12/26/2023 8:08 AM, (Burglary)
The Principal from a Rochelle Avenue private school reported a male party entered the school on 12/24 and 12/25. The male proceeded to mop the school floors while naked. Officers reviewed video footage and immediately identified the male as a 30-year-old homeless party frequently contacted by police. A patrol officer observed the male later in the day (walking on Passaic St.) and placed him under arrest for defiant trespass.

12/26/2023 11:29 AM, (Auto Theft / Recovery)
A West Passaic Street storage facility reported an illegally parked van. A call to the business owner labeled on the outside of the van revealed the vehicle was stolen from Ridgefield Park on 12/24. The facility storage footage was viewed and the actor was identified as a 53-year-old homeless female known to police. The vehicle owner recovered the vehicle and the female suspect was issued a warrant for her arrest.

12/28/2023 6:26 PM, (Disorderly Person)
A caller from a Rochelle Avenue pharmacy reported a male party was harassing staff and customers. The male reportedly yells vulgar words throughout the store. Patrol observed video and the male appears to be a juvenile, extra checks of the area conducted.

12/30/2023 1:51 PM, (Commitment - ATRA)
A caller reported a female laying on the ground under the Route 17 overpass on Passaic Street. Patrol located a 31-year-old female from Newton. The female was found to be highly intoxicated. The patient could not account for how she arrived at her current location. EMS was summoned and the patient was committed to a local medical facility.

12/31/2023 11:47 PM, (Fire)
Patrol Officers noticed a fire in a dumpster near the county park entrance from Howard Avenue. The Rochelle Park Fire Department was summoned and quickly extinguished the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

In addition, (12) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (21) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.


A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
