A caller reported a large group of juveniles fighting on Rochelle Avenue near Midland School. Responding patrol located a verbal dispute among 13-year olds. The group was dispersed and the SRO was advised of quarrelling parties.

A caller from Harvey Avenue reported his 40-year-old son was unable to stand due to alcohol intoxication. Responding patrol assessed the level of intoxication and committed the male to a local hospital.

A resident of William Street called reporting her 29-year-old son was playing music too loudly. Responding patrol units spoke with the adult son and assisted in volume control.
10/19/2023 11:18 AM, (Narcotics- Adult Arrest)
A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of a local hotel. The stop resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male driver from Newark. The arrestee was charged with possession of psilocybin mushrooms and released on a summons.
10/20/2023 10:04 PM, (Sex Offenses)
A caller reported a sexual assault in progress on West End. The actor was approached by a family member and fled on foot. Responding patrol units located the actor on Essex Street and placed him under arrest. A joint investigation between RPPD Detectives and the Bergen County Prosecutors’ Office led to charges for several sexual assault offenses. The 42-year-old male resident was committed to the Bergen County Jail.

A caller reported his 2005 Dodge Dakota was stolen from the driveway. Officers entered the vehicle as stolen and it was located days later in Bogota. Area surveillance cameras are being reviewed.

A patrol officer located a male party walking on Fairfield Drive. The male was stumbling and wearing a garbage bag. The 25-year-old male from Bergenfield was deemed a danger to himself and committed to a local hospital.
10/22/2023 9:30 AM, (Breach of Peace)
A resident of Rochelle Avenue reported hiring a plumber and he was not satisfied with the work performed. The resident reported calling the plumber a "Mother ******", to which the plumber stated that people from his country could get killed for saying that. Each party wisely agreed to not contact one another.
10/23/2023 5:49 PM, (Commitment)
A caller from Grove Avenue reported what he described as a homicidal server in his residence. The 29-year-old male resident was clearly experiencing a mental health episode. EMS was dispatched and the male was commitment pending an evaluation.
10/25/2023 12:27 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A caller reported a vehicle travelling on West Passaic Street without passenger side tires. Patrol located the vehicle and driver on Passaic Street. At the time the vehicle had extensive front end damage and a puddle of urine was located next to the vehicle. The driver, a 62-year-old male from Paramus, admitted to urinating in the street and also confirmed he struck something with his vehicle. He subsequently failed sobriety tests, was arrested, and refused to submit samples of his breath for testing. The vehicle was impounded, the driver arrested, and he was committed to a nearby hospital.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Route 17. The driver a 23-year-old male from Elmwood Park, provided a false identity to officers. He was arrested and charged with obstruction and unsworn falsification. The driver later admitted to lying to police because he was subject to a 9 pm curfew from the pre-trial intervention program.

A caller reported a fall the prior day and was now complaining of nausea. Responding patrol located the male, a 62-year-old from Paramus, seated outside a Passaic Street restaurant. The male was found to be the driver from an early morning DWI arrest. The male was once again committed to a local hospital.
10/26/2023 2:04 PM, (Fraud)
A resident of Durand Place reported an unknown suspect acquired her check, altered it, and attempted to deposit it. Her banking institution caught the fraud attempt and closed the account. Detectives were assigned and no financial loss was reported.
10/26/2023 8:19 PM (Arrest - Adult)
A caller reported a dispute on James Street. One of the actors left the scene in a box truck and was reported to be intoxicated. Patrol located the vehicle, found the driver to be under the influence, and arrested him on suspicion of DWI. Further investigation revealed the driver, a 62-year-old male resident, was also the actor in a Domestic Violence assault. He was additionally charged with simple assault.

A 911 caller reported a group of 10-12 juveniles were causing a disturbance in front of an Overlook Ave. pizzeria. One of the juveniles reportedly threw a water bottle at an employee. The juveniles fled on foot prior to police arrival, extra checks were made of the area.
10/29/2023 7:25 PM (Narcotics- Arrest Adult)
A caller reported an unconscious male in a Toyota Prius. The vehicle was reported to be stopped in the middle of a Passaic Street hotel parking lot. The driver, a 40-year-old male from Haverstraw, NY, was awakened and found to be under the influence of narcotics. He was arrested charged with driving under the influence along with criminal charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of narcotics.
10/29/2023 8:30 AM (Sudden Death)
A 911 caller reported a sudden death in a Route 17 storage facility. Responding patrol located a 55-year-old female who committed suicide. Rochelle Park detectives and the Bergen County Medical Examiners Office investigated the scene.
10/30/2023 3:44 PM (Burglary)
A patron of a Route 17 storage facility reported her unit was burglarized and items were stolen. Detectives were assigned to the case and immediately developed a suspect through investigative measures.
10/31/2023 8:06 PM (Domestic Violence - Arrest)
A resident of Forest Place reported a dispute with his girlfriend. Responding officers received conflicting stories from both parties whom were leaving for a Halloween party. A video doorbell revealed the true events and a 31-year-old female from Paramus was arrested for criminal mischief. The arrestee was charged on a summons and released.

Members of the Police Department led by the detective bureau conducted a prostitution investigation. As a result of the investigation, 3 adult females from New York, NY, were arrested and charged with prostitution related offenses. All were released pending a court date.

A 62-year-old male resident of James Street, responding to headquarters to file a report. The male was found to possess an extraditable warrant out of the state of Virginia. The male was arrested and committed to the Bergen County Jail as a fugitive from justice.
In addition, (27) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (83) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.
A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
