The owner of Woodland Avenue repair shop reported a customer repeatedly called him to complain about work. The vehicle received custom modifications, and subsequently became disabled. Patrol spoke with both sides and explained the civil court process while also warning against harassment.

Several concerned family members reported a potentially suicidal male that they could not locate. A patrol Lieutenant utilized "OnStar" services to locate the patients' Chevrolet vehicle in Fair Lawn. The male was safely located and committed for a medical evaluation.
8/22/2023 8:33 AM, (Residential Fire)
A 911 caller reported a house fire on North Drive. All residents exited safely. Rochelle Park Fire Department along with several mutual aid agencies assisted in extinguishing the blaze. EMS provided medical aid on scene and transported an elderly resident to a local hospital.
8/22/2023 9:30 AM, (Arrest - Adult)
In the course of a fire investigation and on the scene of a working house fire, a 55- year-old male resident was arrested. The male refused to allow medical attention to a victim in need. The male was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstruction of a government function. The arrestee was charged on a summons and released.
8/22/2023 10:21 PM, (Suspicious Occurrence)
A resident of Hackensack reported receiving a phone call requesting he withdraw $15,000 and "submit them to his computer." While in a Rochelle Avenue bank, the male believed the scammer attempted to lure him outside. Responding patrol spoke with bank employees, ensured his accounts were secure and safely escorted the complainant outside.
8/22/2023 5:28 PM, (Theft)
A resident of Philadelphia reported his motorcycle became disabled on the Garden State Parkway. He walked the bike to a local hotel parking lot and left it overnight. Upon his return the motorcycle was stolen. The vehicle was entered as stolen and detectives are reviewing surveillance images.
8/23/2023 3:12 PM, (Arrest - Adult(s))
Patrol located a vehicle idling for an extended period of time in a Rochelle Avenue convenience store parking lot. The vehicle occupants never entered the store. A subsequent investigation revealed (22) counterfeit Apple watches, (5)
counterfeit Apple airpods, (3) counterfeit Rolex watches, and (2) counterfeit Iphones. The suspects additionally possessed approximately $5,000 in currency, believed to be proceeds of counterfeit sales. The arrestees, both "Romanian Nationals" were charged with 4th Degree Counterfeiting and 3rd Degree Money Laundering.

Patrol was summoned to a Parkway medical facility for a report of a patient on patient assault. Responding units located (2) wheelchair bound men who reported a fight about a cigarette. The physical dispute was not witnessed by police and both combatants were advised of the civilian complaint process.
8/24/2023 9:48 AM, (Arrest - Adult)
A motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue led to the discovery of several active warrants for the driver, a 37 year old male from Williamstown. A search incident to arrest additionally produced a fraudulent N.J. driver's license and an illegally possessed prescription narcotic. The male was charged and released to the custody of Bridgewater Police Department.
8/26/2023 10:40 PM, (Juvenile Complaint)
Patrol received a report of a young, barefoot male, wearing pajamas, and walking around "aimlessly". The 10-year-old male was located on West Passaic Street. Officers learned he resided in Fair Lawn and his mother was actively looking for him. Mother and son were safely reunited in headquarters.

A female caller reported parking her 2017 Toyota on Fairfield Drive for 20 minutes. Upon returning to the vehicle the left rear window was shattered. Cameras in the area could not identify the source of the damage. A report was logged.
8/28/2023 1:27 PM (Fraud)
A tenant of a Route 17 North office building reported a rent check was stolen from the mail. The stolen check was forged and deposited into a bank account that was currently empty. The case was turned over to detectives.
8/28/2023 6:07 PM (Fraud)
A dentist from a West Passaic Street office reported sending a check via USPS in order to pay for a parking summons. The check was stolen, forged, and cashed for an amount in excess of $6,000. Detectives in both RPPD and the victim's hometown are investigating.
8/28/2023 10:15 PM (Breach of Peace)
The occupants of a vehicle that was impounded earlier in the day for being unregistered and uninsured, were now at the tow yard harassing a tow operator. The tow company refused to release the vehicle so the occupants in turn began to harass the employee. Responding patrol dispersed the group and advised on the impound release process.

A tenant of a Railroad Avenue office building reported a large amount of fire extinguishers left in a dumpster. Patrol located approximately (25) extinguishers discarded in a rental dumpster. Surveillance cameras to be reviewed.
8/30/2023 10:51 AM (Found Property)
The administrator of a Parkway medical facility called stating that she believes she located a crack pipe and drug testing strips behind the building. Patrol responded and located a crack pipe and drug testing strips. The items were safely disposed of, no users were found in the area.
8/30/2023 12:13 PM (Suspicious Person)
A caller reported a naked male on the West Passaic Street bus stop. Responding units located a male who was shirtless and waiting for the bus. No lewdness violations were observed and the male rider left the area via bus.
8/30/2023 10:20 PM (Juvenile Complaint)
A caller reported 2 juveniles walking on Chestnut Street carrying a street sign. Patrol located (2) 16-year-old juvenile residents walking with a NJ Transit Bus Stop sign. The juveniles reported the sign was previously knocked down and they decided to carry it home. Patrol recovered the sign and the DPW re-installed it.
9/1/2023 10:36 AM (Attempted Commercial Burglary)
A caller reported damage to the front glass door of a Rochelle Avenue liquor store. Police found the glass shattered, however, entry was not gained. Detectives were assigned and are reviewing images of the suspects.
9/1/2023 10:41 PM (Narcotics Arrest)
A patrol car was travelling on West Passaic Street, with a Honda Accord following behind. The Honda illuminated the patrol car with high beams. A subsequent motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of (3) Hackensack residents for possession of cocaine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia. One of the arrestees, a 26- year-old male, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute.
In addition, (24) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (70) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.
A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
