On February 8, 2025, during early morning hours, Millburn Police responded to a Locust Ave residence on a report of an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported that two suspects attempted to open the kitchen window. The homeowner yelled “who is there” and the suspects fled the scene. The suspects never gained entry to the residence. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On February 10, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Palmer stopped a black Jeep Gladiator on Millburn Ave by Ridgewood Rd for a MV violation. The investigation led to the arrest of Ryan Pogany, age 40, of Springfield NJ, for suspicion driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.
On February 15, 2025, Millburn Police Officer O’neil responded to single vehicle crash on West Rd in Short Hills. The investigation led to the arrest of Cristina Then, age 43, of Dumont NJ for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.
On February 23, 2025, Milburn Police Officer Neequaye stopped a red Buick Envision in parking lot J at the Short Hills Mall. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Laura Godlesky of Caldwell, NJ, and the vehicle were wanted in connection with an eluding incident in Caldwell. When instructed by the officer, Godlesky refused to comply, rolling up her window instead. She then accelerated forward, nearly striking two officers, before reversing and hitting the police vehicle. Officers were forced to gain access and turn off the engine. Despite this, Godlesky further resisted arrest and refused to exit the vehicle. Officers were able to bring her into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle revealed vials of suspected drugs and multiple scales. Godlesky was charged with eluding, possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), aggravated assault, obstruction, and eluding. She was subsequently transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
