Second Murder Charge Filed for Double Homicide in Guttenberg
209 71st Street, Guttenberg, NJ

Members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit have filed an additional Murder charge against an East Orange man following the deaths of two males in Guttenberg in 2024.

Lamont Cole, 40, was previously charged with Murder in connection with the death of Justo Bory, 87, of Guttenberg. A post-mortem examination report issued by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office on February 24, 2025, determined Ricardo Bory, 58, of Guttenberg, died of Homicidal Violence and the Manner of Death to be Homicide. Cole now faces two counts of Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)/(2).

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, shortly after 10 p.m., the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of two unresponsive males inside a residence at 209 71st Street. The males – later identified as Justo Bory and Ricardo Bory – were pronounced dead at the scene. During the initial response, the Guttenberg Police Department arrested Cole for interfering with the investigation. Cole has been detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility since the arrest. Cole was charged with Murder relating to Justo Bory on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, after the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be Compression of the Neck and the Manner to be Homicide.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
