Fort Lee Man Charged With Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 45-year-old KYU CHUL KIM of Fort Lee, NJ on charges of endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Matthew Hintze.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the Fort Lee Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged child endangerment of two juveniles. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department revealed that KYU CHUL KIM endangered the welfare of two juveniles under the age of sixteen in Fort Lee over the past three years.

As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, KYU CHUL KIM was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). KIM was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Fort Lee Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
