Teaneck Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 62-year-old MARC S. GREEN of Teaneck, NJ on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Garfield Police Department, under the direction of Officer in Charge Joseph Delaney.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the Garfield Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of three juvenile students that occurred on March 18, 2025, at the Bergen Arts & Science Charter School in Garfield, NJ. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Garfield Police Department revealed that MARC S. GREEN committed acts of sexual assault and endangered the welfare of three children while acting in the capacity of a certified substitute teacher in Garfield, NJ.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, MARC S. GREEN was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault by sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). GREEN was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Garfield Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
