The below captions are a summary of significant police responses during the listed week(s). The blotter does not include all calls for service attended to by the Rochelle Park Police Department.

2/15/2025 5:54 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A resident of Cedar Drive reported a dispute with his neighbor. Responding officers learned that each party accused the other of throwing snow on their property. The next-door neighbors were separated and asked to maintain their own snow.

2/16/2025 9:21 PM, (Noise Complaint)
A caller reported loud music from an upstairs resident of a Passaic Street apartment complex. Officers located the unit in question and the residents refused to open the door for police. They did comply with the noise ordinance and lowered the volume.

2/17/2025 7:39 AM (Auto Theft Recovery)
A motorist reported a Honda Accord with no wheels parked in a Legion Place business parking lot. Officers located the vehicle and its owner, a Hackensack resident. It was learned that the vehicle was stolen from Hackensack and the wheels were removed in Rochelle Park. Hackensack Police took custody of the vehicle.

2/17/2025 8:27 AM, (Breach of Peace)
A party walked in to headquarters to report a road rage incident on Oak Street. The complainant reports being blocked from turning onto Oak Street by a Kia. The Kia driver then followed her to her residence and began video recording her. Police learned that both parties are residents of Oak Street. No further action was requested, matter documented.

2/17/2025 10:49 AM, (Shoplifting)
Loss prevention from a Passaic Street supermarket reported a shoplifter in custody. The accused attempted to walk out of the store with $113 in groceries. Patrol checked the 26-year-old female from Paterson for warrants and the merchant banned her from the store.

2/17/2025 8:25 PM, (Arrest -Adult)
A patrol officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rochelle Avenue for fictitious plates. The driver, a 22-year-old male from Fort Lee, was found to have an NCIC warrant out of Pennsylvania. A search of the vehicle revealed stolen checks inside the car. The driver and a passenger, a 19-year-old male also of Fort Lee, were both arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and bad checks. The driver was committed to the Bergen County Jail.

2/17/2025 3:50 PM, (Theft)
A resident of Berdan Street walked in to headquarters to report a package theft. The complainant reported that FedEx delivered an iPhone at 11:04 AM. In less than an hour that package was stolen from the front steps. The resident did not have a doorbell camera and surrounding residences did not provide suspect images. Verizon, FedEx, and the Detective Bureau were notified of the theft.

2/18/2025 9:30 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A 911 caller reported a breach of peace on the 2nd floor of a multi-family Central Avenue residence. Patrol arrived and a female caller reported she was mad at her spouse due to a possible affair with a neighbor. The caller later stated that she was upset over a moved mattress. All appeared in order and no further police action was requested.

2/19/2025 1:40 PM, (Open Window)
A patrol officer located an open and broken window on a vacant Rochelle Avenue residence. Entry was made; however, no suspects were found inside. Spray painted graffiti was located. The building department was notified and the owner will secure the structure.

2/19/2025 4:45 PM, (Identity Theft)
A resident of West Oldis Street reported a purchase charged to his Saks Fifth Avenue account at a Las Vegas location. The complainant reported that Las Vegas Police arrested a suspect. A report was documented and the credit companies were notified.

2/19/2025 9:52 PM, (Domestic Violence - Arrest)
A 911 caller reported an active domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend. The dispute was reported to be in the roadway of Route 17. A witness reported two parties were in separate vehicles and the female’s windshield was shattered. An on-scene investigation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old male from Bergenfield. He was charged with D/V criminal mischief and simple assault. No protection orders were requested.

2/20/2025 11:29 AM, (Breach of Peace)
Patrol located a dispute in the Rochelle Avenue Post Office parking lot. A road rage incident between two motorists on Rochelle Avenue spilled into a parking lot where one male began spitting in the direction of another. A 50-year-old Saddle Brook resident and a 51-year-old Rochelle Park resident were separated and sent on their way.

2/20/2025 4:54 PM, (Theft)
An employee of a West Passaic Street supermarket left her groceries in a cart while she entered a bagel store. An adult male approached the cart, and stole the groceries and places them in a vehicle. Officers reviewed surveillance and acquired a license plate. A 48-year-old male from Carlstadt was identified and mailed a summons for theft.

2/21/2025 3:39 PM, (Suspicious Person - Commitment)
A 911 caller reported a male party holding a bottle climbed onto an elevate billboard platform near Route 17. Responding officers recognized him as a resident of Central Avenue. The officers convinced the male to climb down and an ambulance was requested for a commitment. No injuries were reported.

2/21/2025 11:17 PM, (Noise Complaint)
A resident of a Passaic Street apartment complex reported a suspicious male party at the bus stop. The male was reported to be yelling, rapping, and punching the bus stop shelter. Patrol responded and spoke with a 26-year-old male from North Bergen. All appeared in order as the male was simply listening to music.

2/23/2025 6:12 PM, (Aided)
A caller reported her medical scooter malfunctioned and requires assistance getting home. An officer located the caller on Howard Avenue and found the scooter to have a dead battery. The officer placed the scooter in his police vehicle and provided a courtesy transport to her home.

2/24/2025 8:06 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A building manager from a West Passaic Street office building reported two suspicious males lingering in the lobby for 4 hours. Patrol located a male and female party who reported to be homeless. A computer check revealed the female, a 46-year-old from Palisades Park, was wanted out of the Guttenberg Police. The warrant was confirmed and the arrestee was turned over to Guttenberg PD.

2/25/2025 9:05 AM, (Welfare Check)
A caller reported an elderly female walking on Hazley Avenue. The female appears lost or disoriented. The female in question an 89-year-old Teaneck resident was located, however, a Spanish speaking officer was required. Shortly thereafter, the next-door neighbor emerged and stated his mother wandered off, the family was reunited.

2/25/2025 1:45 PM, (Unwanted Party)
A caller from Hoffman Avenue reported her unwelcome daughter attempted to enter her house. The mother refused entry into her home due to a substance abuse problem. The daughter left prior to police arrival and the complainant was advised of the protection order process.

2/25/2025 2:23 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A 911 caller reported a dispute with another male on Route 17. An employee of a Route 17 North car dealership stated that he asked a motorist to move a vehicle parked on dealership property. The male then stated, “if you don’t leave me alone I will kill you.” The male reportedly entered the nearby social services office. Officer located the aggressor, a 45-year-old from Hackensack. He denied making any threats and agreed to move his vehicle. The civilian complaint process was explained to both parties.

2/26/2025 3:14 PM, (Welfare Check)
A caller reported an elderly male who lives alone on Gertrude Avenue has not been seen in several weeks. The vehicle was left in the driveway and mail was stacking up. A check with neighbors and local hospitals did not turn up any information. Officer decided to force entry to the home to confirm the resident’s well-being. Once inside a calendar was located which documented a trip to Asia. The residence was secured and police left notice of their entry.

2/27/2025 9:44 AM, (Unwanted Person)
An employee of an Essex Street convenience store flagged down an officer in traffic. The employee reported an unwanted male has sat in front of the store for 3 days without making a purchase. The homeless 44-year-old male, who was known to police, was dispersed from the area.

2/27/2025 3:57 PM, (Arrest -Adult)
An employee from an Essex Street convenience store reported the same unwanted party returned. A computer check of the male returned several open warrants totaling $8,250 from Wayne Police Department. The male was arrested and turned over to Wayne Officers.

2/28/2025 10:11 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A caller from Parkway reported two males in a physical altercation. Responding units checked the entire area and could not locate a dispute. All units conducted extra checks.

In addition, (19) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (143) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.
