Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Tenafly High School opens Spring Games this week for Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Softball, Baseball, Boys Tennis and Track & Field. Boys Lacrosse is ranked in the top 15 in the county. Boys Tennis is the preseason favorite to win Group 3 and is ranking in the NJ top 20. For news visit:

This weekend, explore your creative side at the Nature Center! On Saturday at 2:00 pm, join Crafty Critters to meet a live animal and unleash your imagination as you create an artistic version of your new animal friend.

Then on Sunday at 2:00 pm, families with children ages 1.5 to 7 can enjoy Forest School Free Play, where kids can get hands-on in the Outdoor Classroom mud kitchen, creating cakes, potions, and more! Also at 2:00 pm, adults can register for Heal and Hike, a transformative 90 minute experience in partnership with the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine, designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. The Tenafly Library Friends are pleased to announce two exciting and special upcoming events. This Sunday, April 6 at 2:00 pm in the library, the Friends are hosting a community favorite; Grammy nominee Richard Baratta and his Latin Jazz Quartet. This is a free concert you won’t want to miss. For young and old and all in between.

Then Tuesday, April 8 at 1:00 pm in the library, the Library Friends will be showing the 2024 movie, Challengers as this month's selection for the Tuesday Matinee series. This Golden Globe winning movie starring Zendaya is the story of a former tennis prodigy turned coach who transforms her husband into a champion. It is free to all.

LIVE at the JCC! Star of Netflix’s Jewish Matchmaker, Aleeza Ben Shalom, is coming to the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades! SAVE THE DATE! The Tenafly Welcome! committee, the Fire Department and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps are inviting new residents who moved into Tenafly from October 2024 to the present time to attend a private event at the Firehouse and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps on April 23 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. A light dinner of pizza will be served. Be sure to bring the children. Postcard invitations are being sent. We are looking forward to a wonderful evening. Rain date is April 24.

The Presbyterian Church is opening their doors with an invitation to take part in a community choir and orchestra project this spring. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If you are a singer age 14 and up, please contact the director of music, Jim Millar, to register or for any questions email: dirmusic@tenaflypresby.org The repertoire includes Handel’s Zadok the Priest and Schubert’s Mass in G. Concert date is June 1.

Tenafly is hosting its annual town-wide Thrash-a-Thon. Please join us on Sunday, April 27 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm for this important event. The Nature Center, the Environmental Commission, Green Team, and the High School Green Team, welcome everyone to attend as we clean up our community and raise donations for the Nature Center. Volunteer to participate individually or as a family in collecting litter or pledge to sponsor a volunteer. For more information on how to register, visit the Nature Center website. Looking to learn Spanish? Join the Beginning Spanish Class at the Senior Center starting Friday, May 2, at 11:00 am. It is a twelve week course. Sign up early, space is limited. For details call 201-569-2159.
