1. On March 20, 2025, at approximately 8 a.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral took custody of 33-year-old Hissein Hassan of Jersey City who was brought to Hoboken Police Headquarters by Jersey City Police and had an outstanding warrant for non-payment of a traffic ticket in Hoboken. He was given a new court date and released from custody.
2. On March 20, 2025, at approximately 3:50 p.m., Police officers Mario Rodriguez and Stephen Chowanec observed 49-year-old Jeffrey Wheeler of Hoboken on the corner of Monroe and Fifth Streets, and knew he had a warrant out of Hoboken for failure to appear. Wheeler was arrested on the warrant and a search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical pipe, burnt at one end. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On March 20, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Police Officers Michael Chen, Roberto Cuevas, Donovan Ortiz, and David Smetkowski responded to TD Bank, 47 Newark St., on reports of a woman sleeping in the vestibule. When they arrived, they observed an individual they could identify as 48-year-old Stacey Butler of Hoboken. A search incident to arrest located two glass cylindrical pipes with burnt ends and wire mesh. She was transported to a local hospital where she was released with a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.
4. On March 22, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Anthony Rutkowski responded to the 50 block of Bloomfield Street on reports of a man sleeping in the stairwell of a residential building he did not live in. They located the man, later identified as 33- year-old Gregory Freitas of Hoboken, and he was arrested for trespassing. A search incident to arrest found a push rod in his pocket and broken glass cylinder pipe burnt on both ends, copper mesh, and empty plastic bag commonly used to store CDS crack cocaine on the ground near him. He was transported to a local hospital, where he refused to be fingerprinted and photographed. He was charged with evidence tampering, possession of drug paraphernalia, refusal to be fingerprinted, and criminal trespassing. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
5. On March 22, 2025, at approximately 1 p.m., Sgt. Wilfredo Gomez and Police Officers David Smentkowski, Ahmed Makshat, and Rose Kanan responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. Store security had the actor, later identified as 36-year-old Eric Ingold of Hoboken, in custody after he was seen concealing merchandise inside his clothing and trying to leave without paying. He was placed under arrest for shoplifting and a search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical pipe burnt at one end with copper wire mesh inside and a wooden stick which is commonly used to ingest CDS. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was charged with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was found to have two arrest warrants, one out of Palisades Park for shoplifting and another from Fort Lee for failure to appear. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
6. On March 23, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and John Rodriguez were on patrol when they observed a person sleeping in the driver's seat of a car while it was still on and blocking a fire hydrant on the 500 block of Monroe Street. They woke the man, later identified as 29-year-old Ali Toure of the Bronx, who appeared to be confused and dazed. He gave officers a credit card, when asked for driver’s license and other documents. His eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy. Officers saw a small empty whiskey bottle in the driver’s side door pocket. Police Officer Rickey Truppner arrived on the scene to perform a standard field sobriety test, after which Toure was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A further search of the car confirmed the whiskey bottle. Toure was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, parking within 10 feet of a fire hydrant, and open alcoholic beverage container. As per John’s Law he was released into the custody of a responsible party.
7. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 3:10 a.m., Police Officer Valentino Salgado was on patrol around First and Washington Streets when he saw a man he could identify as 28-year-old Craig Jefferson of Jersey City and believed he had warrants for his arrest, which were confirmed. Police Officer Zackary Guido and Officer Salgado located Jefferson on the 100 block of Washington Street, stopped him, and placed him under arrest. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed on a warrant from Bayonne for unlicensed entry of structures, one out of Hoboken for unlicensed entry of structures, and one out of Hudson County for computer criminal activities theft. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
8. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 2 p.m., Sgt. Michael Losurdo was working an outside employment job near the intersection of Second and Jefferson Streets when he saw two people follow another individual into a vacant building. He saw one of the people, later identified as 29- year-old Jacob Smith of Hoboken, exit the garage of the building, and observed him holding a clear plastic bag. Based on training and experience, Sgt. Losurdo believed a narcotics sale had just occurred. It was revealed the bag contained CDS crack cocaine. He also found and detained a woman who entered the vacant building, later identified as 25-year-old Calvesia King of Hoboken. Det. Sgt. William Collins, Det. Sgt. Christine Collins, Det. Jesse Castellano, and Police Officers Jonathan Figueroa, Jessica Pizanie, Frank Lombardo, and Bianca Arroyo arrived on the scene to assist. A search incident to arrest of King located a glass pipe burnt at both ends and steel wool. Officers located an additional glass burnt pipe and a wax fold conditioning CDS heroin in the area where the two had met inside the vacant building. A search incident to arrest of Smith located $55, broken up into denominations consistent with narcotic sales. Both Smith and King were transported to the Hoboken Police Headquarters. King was charged with possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing. She was released from custody. Smith was charged with distribution of CDS, distribution of CDS within 500 feet of a park or public housing, distribution of CDS within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of CDS, and trespassing. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Detectives Connor Milne and Samuel Flores and Police Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis and Anthony Ingraffia observed a man they identified as 66-year-old Ronald Crawford of Hoboken on the 50 block of Washington Street. A warrant out of Hoboken for theft of services was confirmed and Crawford was placed under arrest. He had also been seen riding an unregistered e-bike. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and issued a ticket for operating an unregistered vehicle. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility for the warrant.
10. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Police Officers Dylan Archilla and Joseph Lupo responded to the 800 block of Madsion Street on reports of a naked man on the sixth floor of a residential building. Police Officers Shawn Sodora and Aiden Gonzalez responded to assist in a search for the individual. Officers located the man, later identified as 38-year-old Daniel Pena of Union City. Sgt. Francis McCourt arrived on the scene to assist. A glass tube with metal mesh stuffed into one end was located in the area where he was sitting. Pena was arrested and transported to an area hospital. He was charged with criminal trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, and lewdness. Charges were placed onto a summons and Pena was released into the custody of a local hospital.
11. On March 26, 2025, Police Officer Shawn Sodora was flagged down near the corner of Ninth Street and Willow Avenue by a bystander who pointed out a woman who appeared to be highly intoxicated. The woman, later identified as 37-year-old Colleen Lydick of Hoboken, refused to speak and began to fall asleep. Police Officer Roberto Cuevos arrived on the scene and recognized the smell of CDS PCP on Lydick. A search incident to arrest located a wet cigarette which appeared to be dipped in liquid PCP. Lydick was placed under arrest and transported to an area hospital. She was charged with possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and under the influence of CDS. She was issued a summons and released into the custody of a local hospital.
12. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Det. Fabian Quinones and Police Officer Anthony Azzoline were on the 300 block of Jefferson Street when they observed 45-year-old Faith Vanalstyne of Jersey City who they knew was wanted on a warrant in Hoboken. She was stopped on the 500 block of Third Street and placed under arrest. Det. Sgt. William Collins arrived on the scene to assist. A search incident to arrest found Vanalstyne to be in possession of a variety of identification cards, credit cards, membership cards, and bank cards all belonging to other people, as well as empty wax folds commonly used to hold CDS heroin and multiple cylindrical glass pipes with burnt ends. Officers also found two bottles of pills prescribed to other people. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription legend drugs. She had a warrant out of Jersey City. Vanalstyne was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
