stolen from in front of 235 Hudson St. sometime the night before. On June 5,

Pizanie and Shawn Sodora identified and arrested a man, later identified as 21-
year-old Simon Medrano of Hoboken in connection with a criminal sexual contact.
Medrano was found to be in possession of the moped reported stolen on June 1. He
was charged with criminal sexual contact and receiving stolen property. He was

Newark and River Streets, Police Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis and Cynthia

reports of a disorderly man. When they arrived, the officers observed that man,
later identified as 35-year-old Diego Ayala of Guttenberg banging on the window
of the restaurant and screaming obscenities from the outside. Since no one from the
business filed a complaint, Ayala left the scene. It was later discovered that Ayala
had tried to grab and hit a female customer of the establishment earlier in the
evening. At approximately 3 a.m., the Officers were posted at Basile’s Pizza, 89
Washington St., where they observed Ayala. Ayala began to scream obscenities at
the officers while waving his arms in an aggressive manner toward the officers on
the street and at another patrol car driving toward the area. Ayala was arrested for
disorderly conduct. As officers began to place him in a patrol car for transport to
police headquarters, Ayala stuck his leg out of the vehicle, made his body limp,

headquarters, Ayala was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction and
issued a summons.
