On July 27, 2023, at 8:26 P.M. the Secaucus Police Anti-Crime Unit was patrolling the area near Red Roof Inn, 15 Meadowlands Parkway, where they observed a suspected drug transaction take place. To confirm their suspicions, the Anti-Crime Unit stopped Dylan Matus in the vehicle he was riding in. Dylan Matus, 24, of Maywood, turned over ten (10) suspected Oxycodone 15 mg pulls and he was placed under arrest.
Detectives from the Anti-Crime Unit conducted a follow investigation to identify the person who illegally sold Dylan Matus the Oxycodone pills. Shortly thereafter, Detectives confirmed the identity of the male who distributed the Oxycodone pills and subsequently placed Anthony Cuccia, 26, of Ridgefield under arrest. During a search incident to his arrest, he was found in possession of suspected cocaine.
A search of Anthony Cuccia’s room at the Red Roof Inn was conducted. During the search of the room, a quantity of suspected cocaine, over 75 pills of suspected Xanax, 15 Oxycodone pills, over 90 Adderall pills, strips, and pills of Suboxone, Cyclobenzaprine, over $1,400.00 in cash, and other evidence indicative of illicit drug distribution were seized. Additionally, a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun and a magazine loaded with some hollow point ammunition were seized. The handgun was found to be stolen from Massachusetts in 2022.
Dylan Matus was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)] and released, pending his appearance in Court.
Anthony Cuccia charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute [2C:35-5b(3)], two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute [2C:35-5b(13)], Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute [2C:35-5b(5)], Possession of Prescription Legend Drug with Intent to Distribute [2C:35-10.5(3)], six counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)], Possession Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Distribute [2C:36-3], Unlawful Possession of a Handgun [2C:39-5b(1)], Possession of a Firearm while Committing a CDS Offense [2C:39-4.1(a)], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7], Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition [2C:39-3(f)], Possession of Handgun Ammunition [2C:58-3.3(b)] and Money Laundering [2C:21-25(a)]. He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.
